Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4's Noise Level Measured by German Magazine Computer Bild

BILD is germany's most widespread (and influential) newspaper, but at the same time, "BILD" is also THE synonym for bad journalism in germany. Claiming that some person probably reads BILD is a popular way of insulting that person's intellect over here.

But of course, that doesn't mean that these specs should be considered false, they're most probably perfectly correct.

Nice to know.

I think these numbers are correct too... they showed the PS4.

I liked this video... and the guy is so funny

Well, for obvious reasons the menu doesn't take much of the power of the ps4 so the cpu is idling and so it won't produce much heath.

Suprising that it wont read audio CD at launch? It's nice to burn directly to console like PS3.

Be aware that It was a development system though, so these specs might still change in the final product.

Apart from that, I want to point out that anything having "BILD" in it's name should be taken with a huuuge grain of salt. ;)

Why?

BILD is germany's most widespread (and influential) newspaper, but at the same time, "BILD" is also THE synonym for bad journalism in germany. Claiming that some person probably reads BILD is a popular way of insulting that person's intellect over here.

Watch the unboxing video where the guy inspects the back, finds a "power connector" and then a few seconds later finds "another power connector". This gives you a rough idea about CB...

PS3 is a bit noisy while I play GTA 5 all those clicking is hard to block sometimes.

I'm glad they improved in that domain. My PS3 can be quite loud when it's been on for a long period of time.

CB?

I found it funny

About the connector... Gemany have more than one standard? Here in Brazil we have just one... so eletronics came with only one power connector.

PS. They changed the stardard here two years ago... it is a hard time to find adapters when the eletronics aren't changed to the new format or when your home didn't have the new format

The old one at left and the new one at right... the old one accepected two kinds... now the new one just one .

I need a adapter for my PS3 to work with the new standard... the old just worked fine.

21 seconds to boot? unbelievable.

34 years playing games.

i don't mind if its "noisy" if the result is a cool console... because Sony didn't do a good job in the first PS3 (the FAT with 90nm GPU) the result is YOLD cases. i had 2 YOLD and i would rather have more noise instead of a dead console. i really hope this 28mn APU has better thermal efficiency... i think it will have 90W TDP joined by the GDDR5 modules, a good heatsink paired with a silent fan can deal with this; but the fan control profile don't look like a aggressive one **... hope is enough.

**(temp 10 vs 60 minutes of operation, do they specify what type of operation we are talking about?)

CB = Computer Bild

Germany, like most European countries,  has the round three pin sockets (middle one is protective ground). Technically it is illegal to use two pin connectors, with the exception that your gadget is fully enclosed in (nonconducting) plastic so you can't  come in contact with any metal. That is the theory, in practise, some chinese "halfplasic" stuff always gets through customs.
