Am I correct believing that it was selnor's thread from a few hours ago that made you write this?

If so, does that mean that we should really simply just report such threads for obvious flamebaiting?

No, this was prompted by yesterday's Kowenicki thread but it's nothing new. The behavior has been present for a while on the forums.

Yes, if you believe a thread is flamebait, you should report it.

The Kowenicki thread was not the first occurence of this type of behavior.

Nor will it be the last. But I assume that was the "starw that broke the camels back" or was there another incident?

It was the clincher yes.

Yet another new rule due to MS fans!
Remember Man-Bear and partial nudity, and now this (we all know why this is).

Prob caused by ongoing bad discussion and multiple threads being derailed on all sides.  Ive seen all Sony/Nintendo/MSFT threads being derailed the same way as well.

And something else;

Sometimes a thread contains factual information which is welcome for discussing reasons. It's just the title is where most of the flaming happens. If we take Selnor's thread as a recent example;

In this thread we had SOME evidence from SOME gamers on SOME websites saying they have or will cancle their pre-orders. Yet the title was

People cancelling their PS4 preorders on Forums around the net

A lot of the problems here would be solved automatically if MOD's were correcting flamebait titles like that more often. Just my 2 cents :)

Just send me a msg if I've been a recent offender please. I get threatened with silly accusations all the time so I can't be bothered to sweat stuff like this.
Like, I'm not even sure what this new "rule" means.
Is it just those posters who say "Oh look X posting negative Y news, how novel"
Cuz if so then let's just write it in plain English so we can avoid all the annoying yip yapping about rule-breaking.

Good stuff, people shouldn't get worked up about it.

I do think users (from any "faction") that post negative news for a company they obviously don't like, quite often, should be told to cut it out.

Ha i shall post more threads about beloved franchises coming to Mobile and you can't hurt me anymore! W000t!

Anyway... Haters are gonna hate.. I wish you mods the best trying to stop this.. Smeags

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

So if a user post false info, and I prove him wrong. I can report that user?

If it is against the rules report the thread or title and let people know that the title is misleading.  Posting negatively isn't against the rules.  Just don't call out the user of the thread or other users saying he/she is trolling or that he/she is biased etc. I think that is all that it is stating.  If you have a problem with a user do it in private or confront a mod to deal with the ongoing situation.

But yes it is annoying when you have users purposely making threads like that to get a rise out of people.

Good read. I will do my best to follow forum rules. Thanks.
