@CGI-Quality: I think the clue that tells us that this is no better than a Titan is its name.

If this card were better, then they would have given it some fancy name, not the name of a slower card with "Ti".

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

I am really confused here:

-This can't be in between the 780 and Titan can it? The Titan is only around 15% stronger at best!

-This can't be stronger than the Titan can it? That would be like admitting the Titan was just a marketing joke, and anyone who bought one is a sucker. They made it out like the Titan would be the flagship card for over a year. But instead it will be completely replaced within 7 months...

-How much stronger than the Titan could it really be on that same architecture? I mean if it was a fully enabled G110 it would still only have ~7% more cores, ~7% more texture units, and slightly higher core clocks. Even if they threw in memory as fast as the 770's I don't think they could ever be more than 10% stronger than the Titan (While using the same architecture). What is the point then? It would still end up trading blows with the 290X most of the time.

It is to be more powerful than Titan.

Not sure how to feel about that anymore, but rumor has it that, since it is the first 4K card from the company, it will be pushing 12GB of RAM. Highly unlikely, but they will have at least two sales of it, if so, next Feb. ;)

12 GB?! Where the hell would they put so many chips?

That can't be true, can it?

I doubt that's true. At most, it'll be a 6GB card, but with it replacing the 780, as you said, it'll probably be a 3GB card.

Indeed, that would make more sense.

But that's what happends when a card in announced without saying anything about it (hell, the card he was holding could be a Titan and no one could notice). Rumors start to appear everywhere.

Oh yeah, let's see the numbers!!

I am curious to see the benchmarks and price point between this and R9 290X... GPU Warz is on!!!!

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

24 chips only... there are GDDR5 4Gbit now (PS4 uses it).

The actual 6GB GPU cards  have 24 memory chips too... GDDR5 2Gbit.

No difference.

That's still a lot of space.

But ywah, Titan already used 24 chips

Still, it would make more sense to keep using 3GB (or even 6 GB) until the next architecture.
