Actually I did let it lapse early this year. I had another code for Gold (12 + 1 month), but I was busy and didn't have much time to play anything. I didn't re-subscribe until MS announced this program. I still haven't had much time to play my 360, but when I do later I will have a whole bunch of new games to play that I didn't before even if I don't re-subscribe sometime next year.


You dont get the games if your not subscribed during the month its free. 

I used my XBL Gold subscription code when they started the program. I'm a gold member until the middle of next year from that 13month code. I download my free games twice a month when they become available.

For the price I paid for the subscription, I'm basically buying each game for about $1.75 each (price I paid for subscription code/13months/2 games per month). Even I'm not using multiplayer at the moment, I'm still getting a good value. $1.75 per game is really cheap.

Yeah im not saing its not good value its great.

Sorry i thought you were saying you hadnt bothered to resub and you were gonna play all the games when you do, my mistake.

Cool well it was originally suppose to end in October, so to find small print now saying it will end in december i thought was worth highlighting, hopefully it wont.

yeah yeah we know  random games you cant chose that are 1year old is better than a rental flatrate at a real videostore where you can choose whatever you want be it old or brand new.

Renting =/= owning thats what he is saying no need to go all "defense force" on him just because he said the truth (guess what fans are the voted worst everytime? BINGO!)

So far I didn't have to pay a single cent for the free games because you dont need a 30 day membership for it. Beat that.

erm i know its the truth, i still think the value is not as good.

Rent lots of the latest games indefinatley, have alot less really old games permanently, i guess if you go back and play old games alot it might be better for you, i usually want to play the latest titles so indefinate rental or not, its better value to me.

Neither does MS, you are only receiving copies of these games if you pay for gold.

That is incorrect.  Absolutely, positively incorrect.

If you are an Xbox LIVE Gold subscriber and you download something for free, it is free forever.  You can delete it, and you will still be able to redownload it again and again as many times as you want.  Even if you are no longer an Xbox LIVE Gold member.  I can attest to this.

In fact, during this latest Games for Gold deal (Halo 3), Microsoft also offered a free Xbox LIVE weekend.  Guess what?  Everyone that had a free (aka Silver) account was able to go online and download Halo 3 for free and they now own it forever.  They can play the offline features with their free account just like someone who has a Gold account, and they can delete and redownload the game as often as they want.

Confirmed, Xbox Fitness is included with every Xbox One Gold account.  Game on Gold on Xbox One exists.

Also...

The entire game of Killer Instinct is available for free with an Xbox LIVE Gold account, though only playable with a single character. 

:D  Both are Day One features, if I'm not mistaken.  So, in a way, it's already there.

Um...I think day one is now down to 1 free game.  The free Drive Club game for PS+ members was just confirmed delayed.

So, both the Xbox One and the PS4 have a free game available to paying subscribers on day one.  Xbox One gets Killer Instinct (the complete game free with one playable character) and whatever the second game available on PS+.

By the way, it's PlayStation Plus (PS+) NOT PlayStation Network Plus (PSN+).  Get your damn acronyms correct.

Going by how many were buying GTAIV just a couple of months ago, there is definitely demand for some older games out there.
