Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Games with Gold extended on 360!

http://news.xbox.com/2013/10/xbox-360-games-with-gold

At E3 2013, we launched Games with Gold as a limited-time program to thank our Xbox Live Gold members. Within that short period of time, we’ve seen an overwhelming response, with more than 120 million hours played with Games with Gold titles. Today, as a part of the “Week of Xbox Live,” we’re excited to announce that we are making Games with Gold an ongoing benefit for Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox 360.

Whether they are blockbuster AAA or popular arcade titles, Games with Gold continues to offer a diverse mix of games with two free Xbox 360 titles a month – yours to keep and at no additional cost. According to recent surveys, 97 percent of participating members have given their stamp of approval for Games with Gold, and we’re excited to continue bringing you great games every month as part of our ongoing commitment to providing great value on Xbox 360.

Don’t forget to download “Halo 3,” called “nothing short of epic” by IGN.com and available Oct. 16-31. Stay tuned to Xbox Wire and Major Nelson’s blog for new Games with Gold titles announced each month.

Alot of them are on these forums, loads of Xbox players saying it was stupid when sony was the only one doing it, i assume there opinon hasnt changed.

Unfortunately for me, the only Games With Gold title that they've offered and I didn't already own was Crackdown. Good for everybody else, though.

Cool, now maybe they'll give games that I haven't played yet.

Sony doesn't give you any free games. If you stop paying Sony you can't play any of them. If I stop paying MS I can still play all of the games I've downloaded because I own them.

I wouldn't exactly vote that the Gold/PS+ "free" games are bad.  My thing is that I tend to buy everything I want to play.  If they shined the light on some underrated gem that wasn't very popular, that would be cool (though I'd likely still own that game, too).  Plus my time is limited with hundreds of games I already paid for and need to play.  I feel kinda "meh" about free games I didn't care about being pushed on me.  I'd still feel obligated to get them, though.

Good for gamers on a budget or wanting to try something new, I guess.  Nothing wrong with an added bonus to sweeten a deal.

yeah yeah we know 2 games that are 3+ years old  a month that you get to own is better than 5 games that are less than a year old that you only get to keep while you subscribe.

Because im sure you let your xbox live sub lapse constantly, because its not really worth paying for right?

well I can see it being debatable for PSN+ since you don't get to keep them if you decide to stop getting PSN+... but here you get them and you keep them no matter what.... how can that be bad....  now don't get me wrong both are great plans... but I hardly see any valid reasons against XBL game for gold plan... you pay the price of 1 full retail game  a year (max) and you will be able to potentially get 24 games for free yours to keep... now that's some great value even if it would be only bargain bin games it would still be a great deal... granted you don't have all of them already... but imagine a new owner... there is no doubt that getting gold is a great option

now if they put back that plan on XB1 next E3 that will be a great selling point for a lot of people still on the edge... since any game won't be older than a year then... could even be better than a price cut

Ive never said games for gold is bad, im saying alot of people said PSN+ was bad untill MS started giving away games, then all of a sudden its a great idea.

I hope they do go to XB1, pity they havent confirmed it already tho, PSN+ is confirmed for PS4 day 1 with 2 free games day 1.
