You might want to check your numbers, if Microsoft annouced their total shipments as of the end of this quarter then you are missing the week of the 5th of October from your data, and if MS's 80m was as of the date they released the statement then you are missing two weeks worth of sold data, so no there's not 1.55m on shelves.

Do you have a RSS feed on my quotes or something?
80.00m at least for end of September shipped.
VGC is 78.45m end of September.
This isnt 1.55m difference? I need to return to school then.

Congratulations on missing out the part of my post where i explain why you're wrong. The tracking month of September in npd doesn't end exactly on the last day of the month. September is a 5 week tracking month and the tracking ended on the 5th of October, so when MS announced 80m shipped 'this month' you're either missing the first 2 days worth of data from the week of the 29th September till the 5th of October or you're missing the entire 7 days worth depending on how MS have decided to frame the data. Either way it's not 1.55m on shelves. But hey here's a fun fact, at this time of year with Black Friday sales about to hit even if 1.55 million consoles were on shelves then that supply would only last for 8 weeks. The 360 is undertracked by a couple of hundred thousand at most.

What has NPD got to do with MS saying they shipped thru 80m in september? NPD is sold through in the USA only??? The two parts arent connected in any way shape or form.
also Black Friday is about to hit? Its almost 2 months away from the numbners we are discussiong here...
nah, you're reaching. again.

Facepalm. You're wrong and reaching yet again. I'm going to have to baby step and spell this out for you again i see.
There are 2 options: either MS are saying they've shipped 80 million as of the end of September or they're saying they shipped 80 million as of the date of their press release which was the middle of October.
The Vgchartz numbers you keep quoting aren't for either of those dates, you keep giving the numbers as of the 28th of September. So you're either missing 2 days worth of data till the 30th of September or several weeks worth of data till the middle of October.
Yet again you gloss over the fact that i've said the 360 is probably undertracked by a couple of hundred thousand but if Vgchartz numbers are correct then that's 8 weeks worth of supply during the busiest quarter of the year.
