Forums - Gaming Discussion - Charticle: PS4 and Xbox One launch lineup exclusive games compared

3 years from now the difference will be even bigger. Sony consoles historically get much more exclusives, first and third party.

Launch lineup shouldn't be a concern really. Getting the console first would be number 1 priority and guess which one is releasing in more territories and has a lot more supply to meet demand? You can't play launch games if you don't get your hands on a console at launch. PS4 is looking to eclipse Xbone's launch 2:1 WW at least.

No offense, but the last chart is fairly biased since you're leaving out all the F2P, Indie, and PSN titles (Flower, Resogun, etc.) because they're not on XBone. At the end of the day, PS4 vs XBone launch titles is like 40+ vs 20+.

But those don't count because I can play them on my PC remember? That is all I've been hearing the past 8 years.

You can play Flower and Resogun on the PC?

Killzone: Shadow Fall & Resogun are the two that look the best and are a must have, IMO. Only xbox one title I would like is Forza 5 and maybe ryse. Although I still don't know how I feel about Ryse. Looks mediocre at times and sometimes looks stunning and really fun.

Quantum Break looks and sounds amazing, but it's not launch.

Just a couple of observations:

- LocoCycle is listed as an Xbox One exclusive, when in fact it's coming to 360 as well. Kinda surprised that such a well-presented article hadn't fact-checked this properly.

- This list is unfortunately already out of date with Flow; Flower; Sound Shapes & Escape Plan all having been announced for PS4 launch today. Unfortunate timing to make the article really. Nothing exclusive of course, but just more to add to the list.

And here's my own thoughts on the matter:

None of the next-gen exclusives really interest me in the slightest.  DriveClub; Knack; Resogun & Dead Rising 3 have a slight pull on me, but nothing that makes me say "this is a reason why I want to own this console".  InFAMOUS appears to be the first game which will do that for me, and I'll still need more reasons why I should buy a PS4 to compliment it (though, the cross-buy scheme is a big help).

That leaves Need for Speed & Minecraft as the only things that really excite me about the launch lineups.  Minecraft I will pick up on Vita instead; Need for Speed I can get for PS3.

So yeah.  2014 can't come soon enough.  Lets see InFAMOUS & The Crew out of the door; hopefully FF XV as well, and then maybe I'll take a plunge at the PS4.

How so? This is the first time I've heard that the 360 will get a cut down version of Titanfall.

BF3 and Bf4 are exceptions in that the MP allows for bigger maps and more players on PC and possibly next gen. I seriously havent seen any articles that suggest the same sort of thing happening for Titanfall. Will do a quick search though and see what i find.

Edit: Most articles are pointing out that the Xbone version has cloud support. I find this particularly funny for obvious reasons . I'm sure there will be a major graphical difference in the games but apart from that i dont see why they will be different experiences. Titanfall does not have massive maps or high player counts like Battlefield.

Well as of right now we don't know player count in the game but it does have much bigger maps than COD and runs @60fps. If they plan on hitting 60fps then it will be subHD on current gen. It is also being made by a totally different studio.

Going sub HD is just a graphical difference. Theres no indication whatsoever that the core experience of the game will be different on 360.

So yeah if someone is "perfectly satisfied with current gen" as you put it... then I dont see why Titanfall will cause them to move over. Which is what your initial post seemed to claim.

when will people learn that its not the launch that counts but all year? with that said only game i will buy will be killzone , if you want a game that feels next gen, killzone is the one

Have you played it?

Burnout Revenge Xbox 360 port 2006. By far the best version of the game!

I rest my case as to why it's irrelevant that games are coming out on 360 or PS3 as well.

I'm getting a PS4 on launch. Though I really do want Dead Rising 3. But hopefully Drive Club won't slip.

KillZone, Drive Club, Knack and Shadowfall is more than enough gaming for me in December :) Infamous isn't far behind then in Feb.

Also noticing a fair few of the PS4 games that aren't exclusive, are due to being on PS3 or Vita. This looks like an interesting strategy from Sony to try and keep brand retention, as a few of them you will already own on PS4, if you purchased them on PS3 or Vita.
