X1 has a better and more diverse launch line-up of exclusives, three of which are from proven, popular franchises. That being said, neither exclusive launch game line-up is enough to justify the initial costs of these consoles.
If only one of the consoles offered something more than games at launch to sweeten the deal .........
I thought PS4 was launching with a slew of timed exclusive indie titles? Like Minecraft? Did that change or am I just reading the criteria wrong.

That's true, if your main concern is an exclusive shooter, PS4 is the advantage at launch. Would TitanFall being an X1 launch title have swayed you?
If I had more disposable income, I would easily go for the X1. Killer Instinct alone wins it for me. Oddly enough, I'm more a fan of XBLA than most stand-alone games.

I see what you did there 
so only 4 games that are only exclusive to the ps4 everything else i can play on my pc did i read that right?

This is not true. With my current PC config, I could not enjoy (properly) most of those Steam games. And I don't have a Vita.
Sor for me, the PS4 has 17 totally exclusive games.
And most of the people are probably in my case
I've been gaming on PC for the past year but I'm picking up a X1 because I'm ready to play with my XBL friends in the livingroom. I already paid for my X1, COD & BF4 and I'll be downloading KI day one as well. Forza will probably have to wait till Christmas. Dead Rising 3 and Ryse are options only if they get good reviews. XB1 lineup is pretty solid IMO and I will have plenty to play till Titanfall. Now if someone is perfectly satisfied with the current gen then I can see why they would wait to upgrade (until Titanfall). There aren't any compelling titles that are a must by right now.

Those games are in the initial list. See the first chart.
The author then removed all non-exclusive games (this included games that are already on PC) like Warframe, Minecraft, War Thunder etc. which are not on XBone but are on PC and that's how you get to the last chart.

Titanfall is on current gen though?
