Sorry, but none of that proves these people are uninformed. The informed based their projections on the cureent state the Vita was in. The informed based their projections on trends in the past. Face it, this increase is mostly unexpected. No color/revision/game/price drop increased sales by 1600% and thinking it would wasnt based off any information other than being optimistic. Thats called faith my friend. Not being informed

Obviously you are really uninformed (what a surprise) 3DS actually had a percentual increase of 4700% (Media Create) and an even bigger one with Famitsu data when 3DS dropped in price.

Before the announcement of the price cut the 3DS had 32k in sales. People would be able to predict 200k off of that alone. PsV before new modle was announced 7k... seriously... 60k is a greater increase than 32 to 200k but whatever. Think you are oh so informed lol

What happened to your unprecedent 1600% increase?  Ooops a 4700% increase was way bigger hahaha

I´ll stop now since I wasted more than enough time with someone as biased and false like you, keep on moving your goalposts on your own, bye bye.

The fact that you cant see the special occasion 3DS was is outstanding. The reason it was possible to get that percent increase was because it dropped like a rock right after it was announced. The PsV didnt. It was at 7k prior to the announcement. And the reason why I didn't think of the 3ds % increase was because I didn't realize how much it dropped from the announcement. Looking at the charts it was selling around 30k weekly and only dropped because of the announcement

But after the announcement 3DS droped till less than 4k.. Comparing that increase with Vita's.. 3Ds increased from 3.9k to 200k.. that's more than 5000% increase... so a +1900% for Vita isn't that big deal.. is just you peaple being over negative... is the prejudge: "vita is too much expensive" "vita has no gaemz".. the negative aura arround the console...

"I think the 3G version will still be the OLED model."

Is this model able connect to Wifi access points ?  In Japan, is it possible to purchase a 3G subscription with the operator of your choice (I do not think it is possible in France...) ?

The 3G version has 3G and Wifi, so access points should be no problem.

And it has no sim-lock, so feel free to insert any sim-card with mobile internet access (prepaid sessions, prepaid flatrate, subscription, phone&data, data only...)

When PS4 releases we'll see the situation for home consoles. Maybe they're not an option anymore for japanese people :P.
PS: Good numbers for PSV and looks like Monster Hunter is bigger than Pokemon now.

In fact that proofs my point. Or did you see huge lines whenever 3DS sold over 50k units on a regular week? This shows that some simply just have no idea. Neither this weeks PSV hardware sales nor PSV software warranted big lines. Sales just weren´t that good to make it possible. But going from no big lines to expecting it doing noticeably worse than PSPgo is really quite a leap. That´s something only uninformed people would expect and people lowballing for obvious reasons would tell in my opinion.

About "datOled" debacle. Surprise no one cares besides some nerds and fans that hype everything. Just take a look at threads about PSV2000 and you will see alot of people that hyped "datOled" having no problem with the revision.

It seems you are the uninformed one. Trends show that Japanese gamers tends to line-up whenever a new model is being released. I mean not even a single person line-up when Vita 2000 launched. Lots of site are posting about that. Retailers are telling lukewarm response. Pokemon also released 2 days after some say it is a bad move. People are mocking the Vita 2000 some people say it would bomb and could be at PSP go level.

Put all those variables you can't blame them for predicting low.

It's not because they are uninformed and purposely lowballing.

Great PS Vita sales, looking forward to the PSVita.TV effect next month and in the long run on the Vita.

Or he is informed about it but doesn't see that as a reason for people to low-ball. Also, well his sales numbers arguments are very strong, and he mentions all the colors and games released as well as a redesign.

What he says makes sense, maybe some of us weren't uninformed but made a bad analysis and weren't critical of certain news items.

A lot of fuss about the PSV numbers. 60k looks impressive on the surface, but it's coming off of three atrocious weeks in a row. In the sum those sales match my prediction for a 45k week from a month ago, because I didn't expect the Vita to go from about 10k a week to about 5k a week.

In the end, why would it matter though? The decisions for third party support have already been made quite a long time ago, so this boost doesn't change anything one way or the other. It was already clear before the price cut in March that third parties would keep making games for the system despite an awful first year.

Speaking of low sales, the Wii U matches the pace of the Vita in a launch-aligned comparison. However, that doesn't matter either, because the decisions for third party support have already been made. The Wii U can keep posting sub-5k weeks, it's not going to hurt the system (there was nothing to lose already). It works the same way in the other direction: Even if the Wii U somehow rebounded to a baseline of 20-30k weekly, that wouldn't garner any meaningful third party support.

Speaking of third party support, the 3DS has been the dominant platform in Japan for two years now. If a Nintendo handheld with such a commanding lead is unable to attract a clear majority of third party support, then what hope is there for a struggling Nintendo home console to gain anything at all? Absolutely none. Hence why there is no pressure on Wii U performance, other than Nintendo's bottom line. That makes it a purely business-oriented matter, because from a gamer's perspective it's pretty much irrelevant.

Oh, and Pokémon sold 2m units. That's okay for a start.

It's almost like HW sales and third party SW sales are not completely interdependent, and multiple other factors can affect a game's viability on any given platform! Madness!
