So now that we have a pretty good sized group going. What do you guys think about the percentage/point allocations? Do you guys think they need to be changed at all?
If your prediction is within 1% of the actual amount, you will get 10 points
If your prediction is within 5% of the actual amount, you will get 6 points
If your prediction is within 10% of the actual amount, you will get 3 points
If your prediction is within 20% of the actual amount, you will get 1 point
If your prediction is over 40% off from the actual amount, you will get -2 points
If your prediction is over 70% off from the actual amount, you will get -5 points

Looks fine. I would maybe only give more pts if you get within 1% since that will seem fairly difficult. Its too bad the old system is gone because it allowed you to wager on different bets. If I remember correctly , you also made money based on how much better you did than what the average predictions was. So it was fairly easy to locate where people were making bad predictions and bet big. My accuracy was good in the PL but my bet to winning ratio was normally at the top. This will all be based off of accuracy. The first few rounds can be a bit experimental to see where the average of people land to see if points need tweaking. I don't think too many people would be upset with that. It's just like making a patch for balancing issues. |
Yeah, I wanted to make the league like it was back in the day but it was just unfeasible unless I made it my full time job to do so :/
But hopefully we can have fun with this!
You're right about the <1% thing though, that should probably be changed to 20 or 25 points given how difficult it would be to get that accurate.
