still two months away for my region...

I am loving it!

I actually think the PS4 launch is kind of anemic. Just two weeks ago I was hyped because I had 7 games planned:

1 - Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
2 - Battlefield 4
3 - Call of Duty: Ghosts
4 - Drive Club
5 - Killzone: Shadow Fall
6 - Knack
7 - Watch_Dogs

But now that both Drive Club and Watch_Dogs are delayed, and Sony has pulled the plug on "10 dollar trade in upgrades" on cross generational games like Assassin's Creed, I won't be getting that at launch either.

Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty are the only ones I'm for sure getting at launch now. Anyone who knows me knows that I don't really give a shit about FPS games and the "CoD Battlefield" wars are pretty damn dumb. The worst part? the next "must have" game at launch for me happens to ALSO be an FPS Game, Killzone: Shadow Fall. I'm just not that into the genre! it can be fun from time to time, but it's really not my thing. I prefer adventure games, platformers, indies, RPG's, etc.

Knack isn't anything special (though I'm cautiously optimistic), so...what am I Getting a PS4 at launch for?

Well, the same reason I kept with Sony since the PS1 days. Their "Slow-burn" mentality. The launches are almost never that good for SOny consoles, but there hasn't been a generation where they didn't dominate by the end. I'm okay with waiting a year or two to get a truly robust lineup, the same way I'm okay with knowing that the WiiU will likely only ever get a dozen games that ever interest me. Why? Quality will come, and quality is there. Nintendo may not release a tonne of games or have the best third party support, but dammit the best games of this gen are Nintendo games! Sony may have shitty starts, but DAMN if they don't end up having the best overall lineup.

Between those two, I'm set for the next 5-10 years.

The funniest part? This is where I think to myself, "Maybe I could get the Xbox One", since it has a pretty awesome launch...but then I Remembered, "Wait, no, Microsoft lost me over the last two generations, they have to EARN me back."

And I hate Kinect.
And I hate Xbox Live Gold, and the fact that I NEED it to get use out of my system.
And I Hate Halo.
And I think Dead Rising is horribly overrated
And I think Ryse looks like shit.
And I don't give a fuck about sports or TV apps.
And I don't care about racing games (Was only getting Drive Club becuase it was free)

I kiiiinda want an Xbox One, but not at that price. 500 bucks straight up for a system that has far too much shit I don't care about or plain up hate....WITH a virtually mandatory 60/year subscription. if the Xbox was cheaper, I'd get it for the same reason I got the WiiU: quality over quanity. Maybe not that many games, but enough to be worth investing in. As it stands, I have the WiiU for my family and Nintendo games, and the PS4 for the Sony games and all the multiplats...leaving me with...what? Xbox exclusives are NOT enough to make me pay 500 for a console.

I have got to stop writing responses to anything relating to the next generation while tired. Always ends up with me making 'jabs' for the Xbox that aren't really jabs...more like opinions. yeah. opinions.

Either way, I am super stoked for the PS4, but now that Watch_Dogs is delayed, Drive Club is delayed, and they dropped the 'upgrade' support, there's really nothing retail-wise that has me interested.

I'd say I'm excited for the indies, but most of them are on PS3 as well...and as much as I love indies, they are NOT why people buy consoles. I Wanna play killzone's beautifully rendered world. I wanna see what Assassin's Creed and Watch_Dogs look like on next gen hardware!

Next Sunday I will be amazed playing all these games

40 days until it releases in my region.

I have only the console pre-ordered at the moment. There's only one exclusive game I'm "somewhat" interested in (KZSF) so for a while at least my PS4 will be used for sports games and Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc.

I'm looking forward to it but to be honest the games are lacking for now so that puts a bit of a downer on it.

Damn, I got the money to buy it at launch. It just seems not worth it until The Witcher 3 and Infamous come out. Damn, I just am pretty excited to get new hardware.

My nephew told my to buy the next xbox because it is cooler. Why? Because it has a cooler symbol, and Halo in which he has never played. lol lol lol

So I assume that nobody knows that we can download PS one games on PS4 from day one then?
