Wait for Nvidia Maxwell or the equivalent Radeon competition to come out. $399 will get you an amazing card by then and I doubt PS4 will have any system sellers at that point.

Upgrade your PS4 by buying a Vita with it.

Upgrade PC, cause then you'll have all the past and future games, and not limited to PS4's games....and then save up for a ps4. lol

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

As an avid PC gamer, I'd say buy the ps4, it will last longer than the current crop of high end similarly priced GPUs that will be obsolete within a few years, and most likely be bottlenecked by your current CPU anyway.

Well, his cards were released 4 years ago and he has been able to play pretty much all games on high+.
They weren't even high-end parts to begin with!
That's not really bad value for money there.

But I concur about the rest of the system, it may be a little lacking. - Without additional information, I can't really say.
However with that said, Jaguar isn't exactly going to be pushing up the PC's CPU requirements either, an 8-core Jaguar is only estimated to be equivalent to a Dual-Core Core i3 in terms of performance.
There should also be less overhead this time around too, due to the fact that developers will be targeting x86 and all of it's particular nuances that go along with it.

But considering he got 4 years out of his mid-range Radeon 5000 cards, he could probably get away with another year or so on Medium.

No matter how many thousand dollars you spend on PC hardware, you won't be able to play PS4 exclusives on your PC.

And yet, there are PC exclusives that will never arrive on any console.

The games I'm most looking forward too are The Division and Destiny and if I were to pick up a PS4  it would be mostly to play with local friends (they can't afford a good gaming rig).  One of my favorite genres is JRPG and as a PC and nintendo gamer that sometimes can be lacking, so that's another driving force as to why I may want to get a PS4.

I think you have made the decision for yourself already. :)
But go with the Playstation 4 as it will offer genre's and games that seems to appeal to you most.

Do keep in mind though, games are more expensive and you have to pay for online, thus the Playstation 4 could be vastly more expensive over the long term if you buy allot of games.

Well I've never really played any of the PS3 exclusives  so it's hard to know if I like them.   I know God of War and GT don't really interest me,  however I almost picked up a PS3 for The Last of US and Ni No Kuni, so I now I'm missing out on games I'm sure I'd like.

If I were you I would definitely get the graphics card instead because those good titles won't be coming until the second or maybe even third year for all I know and plus the PS4 isn't going anywhere ten years from now so you can just enjoy the view and not panic about the console going out of production too soon.

He might be able to play PS3 exclusives in PS4 from 2014 through gaikai which he hasn't played yet , so its better to purchase a PS4 now if he want to play exclusives otherwise upgrade PC.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

The problem is the OP doesn't sound interested in any of the games so far for the PS4 other than destiny and plus The division is coming to the PC.

I would say get the PS4. At the moment, it's not like your 5750's aren't getting the job done. I would prioritze access to more games over some performance boosts.

Take a look at the other side of that, the PS4 will never match the performance of their PC, will never offer all the functionality, and has its own list of exclusives that they will not get to play.

Also PC online is free. You will have added expenses by going PS4 that will cut down on the amount of games you can buy a year. Not to mention they are more expensive when it comes to games.

If their dual cards are not impressing them, a console with a combined CPU/GPU isnt going to either
