I was not crazy about introducing so many new characters and the jail is sort of feeling like the farm (stale).

My hope with major event occurs to shift up the dynamic. My biggest hope is group is separated somehow and we see how the different decision making process unfolds for each group for a while. The big question in the show often seems to be "every man for himself" versus "strength in numbers and humanity".

So, show that and keep it complex that neither answer is "right" but simply each one has its own complications.

I read that later episodes will have events that cause the groups to seperate between those on a search (Daryl, Tyreese, Bob, and Michonne) while the rest have to recover/not die from a tragedy that I think was not-so-subtly hinted at for next episode. Hopefully that'll satisfy what you're looking for in the show.

We will see. I was really excited when the farm was destoryed to see all those small groups and how they would do things...for ten minutes then reunion.

I like when the show is dynamic, right now it feels stable and safe to a degree with the prison.

I will say the zombie falling through the ceiling scene was pretty clever set piece I had never seen.  I still enjoy the show, I just think it has great potential as shown in Tell Tales game or the source material books.

They'll feel safe for a while....but there will be "Something to fear".

Walking Dead premire mustered up over 16 million viewers for the premire, which is 3.6 million than its peak for the Season 3 finale last March.

Pretty decent episode and it set up the season a bit. The prison is no more safe. Why did they have to go after Harry Potter though...

Yeah, I just read that earlier today.  That's huge - even for network that's big, much less cable.

Personally, I thought it was a good premiere.  Not quite as good as past seasons but still good nonetheless.  Definitely hyped for this season.

i didnt like the zombies falling through the roof scene. it seemed to unrealistic to me.
first, why would the ceiling get so structurally weak, seems like it should be just as strong as when it was built.
2nd why does it conveniently decide to collapse just when they arrive.

Personally, I didn't like when the liquor bottles shelf fell over as soon as that one bottle got put on it and then the whole shelf fell on the black guy, trapping his foot.

They tried to make it seem like the roof was weakened due to a helicopter crash but i don't think it worked that well.

BORING! Hated the grocery store scene. I didn't think any of it made sense. Okay, I buy the helicopter weakened it but why would the zombies just all start falling through like it was swiss cheese that instance. Seriously, them wandering around up there aimlessly they would have found all those weak spots before.

What did the boy die of? Is the virus mutating or something? They kept showing that one zombie with weird eyes by the fence.
