It is a diss. Dont play games. X1 is much easier. You are just trying to justify your dissing them. I hate MS so its not like I am defending them. Its just easy to admit the truth when you dont try to hide your hate.

It's not a diss. As i said, i have no reason to diss it. For me personally typing X1 is less convenient, as i have to use the num pad for most numbers right now (keyboard needs replacing. Can't find any that look as comfy though ¬_¬).

Anyone who perceives Xbone or any similar play on words as a diss is being silly. It's like those people who find $ony or M$ as being somehow offensive. People are far to defensive over their choice of corporation..

One offers better servers, the other offers better value for money. That's how i see it ^^

While you are regarding PS+ as just a rental service, when people compare it to Live they are comparing Live as a whole to PS+ along with PSN (which is free), since with the inclusion of PS+ PSN costs about the same as Live.

PS4 vs Xbone will be a much better comparison for this. Right now things will probably turn out the same (PS+ better value for money, Live better servers), but we will have to wait and see.

I'll go with the better servers, and in that, there's better value for my money.

Just out of curiousity what are all the better services that justify the better value for your money?  Party chat comes to mind.

didn't the man just say... and you just read... 'better servers'
not services my drunken friend.

servers!

I'm using my phone and so I guess if I misinterpreted servers for services then that makes me drunk, perfect logic lol.

I get access to Steam sales and it doesnt cost me anything to do so. I get free demos too. You really are making it look worse than I thought it was. They are charging you for things that are free on other platforms but since its better than no access at all it justifies the price?

Well yeah, I too have Steam and it's nice. But you're the one who made a thread about Live vs. PS+. By your logic you could easily say that you are paying for Live to NOT get features that you get on other platforms.

But anyways, back on topic. The difference is that you get most of what Live offers for free (online, apps, internet) and then you get to decide if you want to spend the money on the extra features that PS+ give you. whereas if you have a 360 and don't have live there isn't a whole lot you can do with it.

I didn't even see the 'Xbone' moniker... which I would love to argue with as it's certainly a diss... but really can't.
How they didn't see that coming is beyond me.
Fools.

I don't use "Xbone" as a diss, it's just the easiest name to type fast (only involves one tape of the shift key, XBO involves holding it down and Xbox One is just long).

I have no reason to diss the Xbone, i think it looks like a very capable machine, just like the 360 did. If it wasn't for the Kinect i'd probably get one ^^ (may still do some day if the price comes down. Haven't decided on the PS4 yet, other than Killzone not much of it's launch line up appeals to me).

How is it a diss when Microsoft themselves have embraced the name...

I guess by your logic Microsoft is dissing their own product.

Thinking about it now, I think the paywall for the apps is the worst part of Live for me. I couldn't tell you the last time I played online...But I use Netflix and Youtube on my PS3 all the time. So if I had an Xbox I'd have to choose between not using those features or paying just to use the apps...that would be infuriating. Especially since you at least get stuff with PS+ so that it still might be worth getting.

people love to argue the , 'paywall for apps' thing. that's nonsense to me where the PS360 is concerned.

you buy a console to play games. not for the apps. you didn't buy your ps3 because it gave you free access to Netflix. I didn't buy my Xbox because to watch movies. We  bought our consoles to enjoy gaming. And for me particularly, online gaming. So that paywall you refer to really doesn't exist, except for those that want to turn it into a negative; into ammunition for their argument over one console or another.

I picked xbox and it's better online connections and communtiy features because I'm a gamer.. not saying you aren't... but onliine is what modern gaming is about, what it's always been about actually, friends. competition. Netflix, ESPN, Amazon, the internet... it's all ancillary, it's not what I have an xbox for, or why I pay for Live. That Microsoft decided to lock those features behind a membership means very little actually and amounts to a minuscle amount of revenue for their bottom line, if any at all. People pay for Live to game, that's it. The other sfuff is a bonus.
And Live is better. That's like a given almost.

If you use the apps more than actually play games, than the PS3 is the better bargain, but if that'sthe case, gaming isn't your thing and you wouldn't be on this forum.

think I caught ya'.

It's pointless to compare PS+ and Live on current gen. Better service = Live, better value = PS+. This is better suited for next gen.

securing the domain and 'embracing' the name or two totally different things. One's business, the other isn't going to happen, at least honestly.
and yeah... it was a diss. x1 is pretty easy to type.. I don't care what zek said is quicker on his keyboard.
don't blame him, it's a stupid name.

for next gen.. when the PS+ finally gives you access to cross game chat and Live has hundreds of thousands of dedicated servers.
good point.

Me personally, I don't care if my games won't run on dedicated servers . My online experience has ran fine without it, and will cotinue to in the future.
