Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Enough of the Nintendo Conspiracy Theory

What bothers me is that everything is fed into the "third-parties are trying to sink Nintendo" machine, even when there is a perfectly rational explanation at hand for a particular situation. Logic tells us that most businesses operate with profits as their top priority, not secret grudges that span generations and several different CEOs.

For example, I've been hearing people mention that late ports of games already released on the PS3/360 but with a higher price tag on the Wii U is evidence of this. Really? Does that mean that these same companies where trying to oust Sony when the same thing happened to them?

It's really starting to sound crazy.

I agree with what you're saying for the most part, but some decisions we see being made versus the statements some companies don't make sense and contradict each other.  I mean, maybe it's possible that a corporation as a whole may be able to hold a grudge in the same way how political leaders do.

But obviously there isn't any solid proof so it's conjecture for now.

But then how would you rationally explain the higher price tag?

But conspiracies are funny.
The "3rd party saboteur" conspiracy is great because we often get "proof" of it's existence, like Assassin's Creed IV for Wii U not getting DLC for unknown reason. Who cares that it's probably more about companies not wanting to take risks with unproven systems, low userbases and what not. They also know that Nintendo won't throw any money at them to get exclusive content so that's another negative.

Well, for starters every company wants more money. Higher price tag means more money, and if you're not expecting a lower price tag to bring in that many extra buyers then you might as well stick with the high one. In many cases it would make sense to release versions of games at a lower price because they're old ports but if you think companies that do lower the price does that out of goodwill then think again. If they can come up with a (in their opinion) good reason for selling these games at full price then they will. Releasing say Deus Ex for Wii U at a higher price makes sense because Squeenix sees it (or wants you to see it) as a completely new game for Wii U owners, and they probably don't expect a lower price to bring in more money.

There is no bias/conspiracy torward Nintendo, their just hard to cover because there a super secret company that only like give out news when they want to, which is why Nintendo Direct was made. On the other hand, Sony and Microsoft are the complete opposite. You have no idea how annoyed I get when I hear Nintendo Fanboys spread this childish rumor about how the media is against Nintendo, that's not the case. Nintendo Fanboys need to cut it with the over sensitive and childish behavior bullish*t, stop pointing the finger at everyone else and point them at Nintendo.

Nintendo is a business, their bound to make blunders from time to time. They fail to communicate with third party before and after the Wii U launch, they release it too early which example the two major updates (which to be honest, as a Wii U owner, the updates barely did anything except minor features. It still freezes from time to time and the latest major update just made YouTube even worse) but back to the point, If you fanboys were true fans, you would criticize Nintendo mistakes. I don't have a problem, I am able to notice when a company is making mistakes.

I was typing this on my 7" tablet, so expect some typos.....hope its not a lot.

Oh look at that!.. another biased nintendo bashing thread by fanboys trying to sink nintendo.

Yeah thats great and all but that isnt why people say that. It also doesnt take a fanboy to see it either. When their games take hits in reviews simply for being on a Nintendo platform, there is obviously some bias. What you posted has nothing to do with why people think that.

I am also able to notice when a company makes mistakes. Just because I own a Wii U doesnt make me blind.

Do you think insulting others is going to sway them? Like anyone who actually enjoys their Wii U must be a fanboy

So, are we allowed to talk about it once we get proof?
