ok ok there's always going to be those guys but I think general consensus (spelling?) is that Vita and WiiU are DOOOOOOOMED!!! while 3DS and PS3 are winning their respective markets. Now I must plug that I think WiiU has a much better chance than Vita at recovering just because of the more mass appeal of their IPs. It's not a sure thing however as Mario, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros sold wonderfully on Gamecube and N64 yet those systems weren't the biggest movers. Nintendo knows how to make money though. Imagine how much more they make per game created than Sony. Sony spends gonzo dollars to make 3 Uncharted games this gen each getting its own marketing and other expenses and each suffering the predictable drop once the successor arises. Go to Nintendo and they have a game like Mario Kart or a game like Brawl where they basically say "If you have a Wii and want this series you buy this one." They only devlope one game and yet it keeps selling through the whole gen. The only game Sony really has that they can do that with is GT.
That's my 2 cents worth I'm just happy that by 2015 I'll be enjoying WiiU, PS4, and possibly even a 3DS in all their glory (PS4 at launch, WiiU BF 2014, and 3DS maybe next Summer if the price is right for the Pokemon themed Red one)

Yeah, that makes sense. I think the U will recover too. Some people just like to hate on Nintendo, it's a fact of life. They just resent what Nintendo stands for. So they'll even hate on the 3DS.
But you're right, in general they tend to harp at the U, but like you said in time the sales will prove Nintendo right yet again, and the doubters will have their feet in their mouths.
The thing is that many of them just can't understand that Nintendo makes money and lifts their consoles on their own, without the need for 3rd party games. The 3rd party games come after. Most anti-Nintendo users have a blockage and will never understand that basic principle.
