Guess Im odd in my issues with the two controllers:DS3: The Symmetry would actually make more sense if the controller was larger, but I liked that It was smaller. It is now larger and keeps the same design for the most part. I do like the updated Analog sticks but I know I will miss the Analog sticks being buttons (I loved the nice little click) and they are a bit stiffer. The Triggers got some needed work as well. 360: Assymety makes more sense to me if the controller was smaller, to move your fingers away from one another, but I liked that it was larger. It is now a bit smaller (not really sure how much) and I liked the stiffer analog sticks (i just thought they needed to be "softer" not sure if thats the word I want to use). Believe it or not, the Original Xbox fatty controller is my favorite MS controller, by far. Love that thing. Its huge and I have broken it a few times (always replaced without an issue during the Xbox's life). It was large and different from every other controller I had used enough, that it "felt" like a new and different interface. Might just be nostalgia, as I have not turned on my original Xbox in a few years. My favorite Playstation controller is the original Dual Shock. I bought a PS1 and later a PSOne (which came with the white dual shock). The upgrade to analog sticks was just awesome. I still have my original Dual Shock connected to my computer and use it when I can. |
Ah, the good ol'Duke! I remember that one. It was big, but was ok for my hand. I remember how cool it was that the black and white buttons turned on and off the flashlight. Yea, the Xbox One controller is very similar to the current one. It feels very 'familiar' in one's had. You may have the same issues.
Did you ever get to try a Dreamcast Controller?
Also, any 3rd parties make ones that you like?
