There exist a Valve and Nvidia partnership such that Steam OS is Linux based.

The partnership is with AMD too but they need to wait AMD shows the new Linux drivers that can fix everything because Steam games today didn't work with AMD GPUs (some works with terrible performance).

AMD said they will show good news to Linux users but well they says that every time.

Apparently you aren't keeping up with the press releases. Not once did AMD announce that they were going to partner up with valve.

So where's the rest of the more recent AAA games that aren't valve games ?

And?

My point...

+ Better Linux support

You said no... I use Linux and one of points to choose nVidia is because it is far way better than AMD on Linux... and I play for example Futebol Manager on Linux via Steam... try run it with a AMD GPU lol.

Both AMD and Valve said they will support Steam OS but AMD didn't have a driver to work... so Valve is waiting AMD release the some driver to fix everything with AMD on Linux.

You will have option for Steam Machine with AMD hardware... just the prototypes are only nVidia because AMD didn't works yet.

It is not my problem (or Valve) that Radeon drivers opensource/closed sucks on Linux... and sucks in high level.

You just proved my point on how much more irrelevant linux is for gaming. BTW it runs fine on my GPU BTW. (Just pirated it to test out.) If they truly had better linux support then why aren't nvidia granting the linux their best wishes when it comes to open source drivers ?

So for you open source = better lol

PS. AMD closed driver is less worst than the open source.

@Bold Where's your source ?

Well you just furthered my point here alright. It's nvidia's fault that they don't provide any opensource drivers for their more recent GPU's.

And I can play with nVidia... that's how the world works... I don't give a shit if the software is opensource or not... for me what is better is better... quality over open/closed.

I didn't say that open source is better I am merely pointing out the fact that some linux users would rather have them for other reasons stated before.

I'm confused yet. But recent inclination is towards the Red.

Once again no evidence that AMD did partner up with valve, well so much for that piece of fud.

You realize that they also have their own proprietary driver for linux too, right ?

BTW just so y'know left for dead 2 is running on an amd hardware in linux. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klY7dfYAVy8

Well so much for having awful drivers on their part eh ?
