Forums - Gaming Discussion - Who's not buying a Ps 4 or Xbox One this holiday? Why not?

The launch line ups are pretty bad and there are so many WiiU and 3DS games coming out that I don´t have time and money for the PS4
...and then there is the Vita which looks more attractive by the minute

Maybe PS4 in a few years if my 360 gives out. Right now I have a Wii U and it is fine for me. I am not doing launch day purchases any more. High price, a lack of great games, incomplete features, as well as looming hardware revisions make it more of a no go for me.

I'm not.

They're too expensive, and they have zero games that interest me that are not on my PS3/WiiU.

I will be a single-console owner indefinitely, I have not 'set a date' for when to get another 8th gen console. I'm not really confident about the 8th gen anyway, not in the way I was about the 7th gen, could very well be that console gaming will take a back-seat again and I'll stick to my Nintendo+PC combo once more like in the 6th gen. Luckily though the 8th gen handheld offerings are miles better than those of the 6th gen (and 7th gen).

me... too many games on my backlog. (beside the disc ones i have in the shelf, PS+ is getting annoying with all those cool games)

after i clear the main chunk of my backlog, i will buy a PS4... (prediction: april 2014)

Proudest Platinums - BF: Bad Company, Killzone 2 , Battlefield 3 and GTA4

Nope! Gotta wait for the real games.

Nope! Waiting for Uncharted 4

I Bought the Wii U already, I do plan buying both Ps4 and Xbone but will wait till price drop or if I can buy one preowned the latter the most probable.

I'm not. If I get one as a Christmas present then that's cool, but I'm not paying for one myself. I'll wait till they're $299. Too expensive and don't need the distraction during the school year.

Plus during the summer I'm at my cottage with no internet, so I know I can't use an Xbox One up there because of their stupid policies. I'll probably get one next Aug/Sept, but if I hear of a price drop coming I'll buy one after that.

I'm not. All ready have a Wii U. Although I will probably get a PS4 in about 2 years or so. Hopefully a price drop by then and possibly a slim version.

You should congratulate me. I destroyed the vile red falcon and saved the universe. I consider myself a hero.

I'm not for one simple reason: I'm just not excited for them yet.

When the 360 released I was very anxious to see games on the console. Same with the PS3; I was already super hyped for the transition to HD, games like MGS4 and Bioshock, waiting to see if Guerrilla could pull off visuals like Killzone 2's E3 '05 trailer, etc. I'm always hyped for a new Nintendo console since they make my favorite games but both Sony and Microsoft's new consoles had me interested from the get-go.

This time around, outside of MGS5 there's really nothing shown so far that makes either the PS4 or XB1 more enticing than just investing in a good gaming PC for those (hopefully) inevitable 3rd party games I'll want. I certainly hope that changes by sometime next year.
