It seems like they've let go of the ball again. They let go of their original Xbox owners far too quickly, and it looks like they're letting the millions of 360 owners hang out to dry again. Is it company policy to "move on" from a console generation when they feel like they can't grab momentum anymore?

I think that this is precisely why Sony has overtaken them this generation despite having the 1 year lead and the PS3 launch fiasco. They, as a company, don't seem to support their customers for the long term (at least in the gaming side). I think that they should reverse this trend they're making and keep on supporting older consoles if they want to build a better brand image. The PS3 is ahead now simply because of the continued releases of big games (GT6 soon baby) and the continued focus on creation of new IPs.

Next generation, if Microsoft pulls the plug early again, I think that consumers will probably migrate away from them.

I cannot understand what is so strange with MS putting most of their focus on X1. We have had 360 for 8 years! It will get continued support (including exclusives like Titanfall) just to a lesser extent. The game library I have (physical but also XBLA) is in my view the best of all consoles ever, but it is time to move on now and get new experiences.

Out of touch with consumers.

There's nothing wrong with them it's just that there business model doesn't work a whole lot often in the console space and they fail to acknowledge this because they don't realize that their creating more ps360 clones which were about multimedia rather than games. If microsoft can get the "take over the living room" mantra out of their heads they might be able to one day become first place. Like sean malstrom has said, "It is sony who has more in common with the gamer than either of the two for this generation." and I don't see this changing anytime soon.

Well, that's kind of the feeling I get every time they release a new Windows. Of course they will still release updates for older Windows version as well, but they make sure to tell everyone not buying the new OS that they're using a dying OS. In that light, I don't think it's all that surprising they're doing the same with Xbox. As for why they're doing it in the first place, I have no idea.

nothing wrong with them IMHO comparing them to Sony is not right becasue Sony is the EXCEPTION not the rule. I dont recall any console maker that support there systems like Sony does. Whether that is right or wrong is subjective

Sony may be the exception but that doesn't mean that the others who have bought their consoles later in the life will not give them a bad after taste like the wii did.

funny, I still see PSP selling on the charts, hell its even beating its own succesor and Wii U most weeks. ANd there is still games being released for it. So...yeah. I think we've all been gaming long enough that we should know how these companies operate for the most part. Wii stopped support when i thought it would, 360 is heading the same way. 

So how many first party titles were there for 2012 and 2013 for the psp ?
