Forums - Gaming Discussion - Deus Ex Human Revolution not exclusive to Wii U.

I don't care about the exclusivity. I care about that price. What the hell?

Exactly my complain, if it is coming to all consoles, it should share a similar price, hell I can even take a 10 dollar difference because of the gamepad changes, but 20 is asking too much, I'll buy when it goes down in price to match the other versions

Yeah, no. Drop the price and then there is a very good chance I will pick it up for the WiiU.

I loved the game on PC, and was seriously considering it for Wii U, but not at $50.

Nintendo fans did when they thought the director's cut was exclusive.

I was never interested in it because I played the regular version and it was just extremely boring.

think i made a thread about this months ago. but why would Ninty fans care if a game is exclusive or not? a good game is a good game or are they so petty?

Sadly some are. I agree if its a good game then buy it.

Sure PS360 version is cheaper but that is because peopel who wanted the game already paid for it once, so it is to entice them to buy the better version.

I recall reading that 360 and PC were the main development platforms for most third-party games this gen, and that even simultaneous multiplatform releases were technically ported from 360 to PS3. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

What I think is that they certainly ought to anticipate poor sales if they decide to sell a product for almost double its apparent value.

Right, but they were $60 when ported to PS3. Whether released on the same day or ported later. So... Wii U fans should be happy this Wii U port of Deus Ex isn't $60.

The PS360 versions are just a patch job. That's cheaper than making a Wii U port. Square Enix probably regrets making this port anyhow, Wii U fans should just be happy. Its a good game and it'll get price cuts.

I disagree. Wii U fans should be indifferent about the Wii U port, because everyone owns a computer and you can get the exact same game there for considerably cheaper.

So is the margin of profit generally greater on 360 games than it is on PS3 games? Some of that $60 per copy has to pay for the porting costs on the PS3 version, while on the 360 version there are no porting costs to pay off. Why didn't third parties charge slightly more for the PS3 versions of their games to account for this extra cost? Alternatively, if the 360 version was simply cheaper to make, why not just discount the 360 version?

Certainly, assuming they own a gaming PC.

I get your logic, but its not relevant. I'm just giving you a possible reason the Wii U version is more. The PS360 versions were just a patch job because the game already existed on those platforms, the Wii U required a port.

If you feel like continuing this argument, take it to Square Enix.

to be fair Square Enix has no buisness charging that much for a port of a two year old game period. Especially if the rumours of the gamepad features being implemented on the cheaper versions through Vita/smartglass. I think this is just SE being greedy fucks. The PS360/pc versions are cheaper cause they knew that crap wasnt gonna fly.

Oh, neat, I didn't know that. I've been meaning to play this game, so I think I'll wait for this version on PS3 now.

This is the one where they fixed the boss fights, right?

yes, whether someone likes the game or not isn't going to change though. Though boss fights were uninspired, they took me like 15 minutes total to beat in the hardest model in a 40 hour stealth playthrough (worst augments for bosses).  It's not really worth it to anyone that's played it that didn't love it and want the definitive version (I want :P).

On PC I'd even hesitate to recommend this over the original for first time players because you could have had the game for like $5.00 total in steam sale. I'm not sure the price difference on console though.

They said they made the AI better which remains to be seen. As well as included a 15 dollar DLC that extends the gameplay by 4-8 hours. The DLC was a separate campaign but now it's integrated to the main game. There's also the varoius pre-order DLC packs.
