Did Sony do this for the right reasons though?
I mean, they probably did it for good PR, not because they sincerely care for their customers.

I guess a good deed is a good deed in the end though.

But it's not Sony contacting press and telling the story. So I dont know what intentions youd think theyd have

Obviously news of this would get out.  Sony knows this, any company knows this.  They don't have to contact the press.  They have their fans to do it for them.

Yeah, its so obvious the disabled person who go to the media and tell them how wonderful of a company Sony is /rollseyes.

I hear about these stories everyday /sarcasm

There could have been witnesses, I'm just being skeptical, calm down, it is not abnormal for people in today's society to do good things just for the opinion of the public.

so its really sony messed up by putting everything up stairs while ms has consoles on the ground to play just a couple upstairs.

It doesn't work like that. You can't have infinite space in a finite area. There are obvious limitations to these things and the companies rent out floor space. We know MS and Ubisoft already had a presence on the bottom floor which probably took up most of it.

true but sony should have thought that need a way for disabled gamers since they knew they had no consoles on the floor

The simple fact is that the MS agent had no power. Meanwhile, the Sony's agent is high up enough to give away company stuff without getting fired. Right time. Right place. Free stuff.

That's not a fact but pure speculation on your part. Most probably they had similar power, but the Sony guy had more brains and sensitivity. It could have also reflected the general attitude present in the companies though - the fact that Sony guys are more out there for the gamers and they know they can do out-of-the-box stuff like that and won't be punished by their bosses. On the other hand, MS guys have received so much heat the last couple months, they may have become more distant, official, wanting to play it safe and thus are out of touch.

Either way - tip of the hat to Sony, that was a very nice move.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

A wheelchair-bound individual wanted access to the consoles but they were up a flight of stairs. The MS reps said sorry while the Sony reps said sorry and took his info down to send him a PS4 on launch.

Funny post from gamefaqs user,

"Sony hands out consoles to handicap folks while
Microsoft makes fun of transsexuals...

The message is obvious here."

So where exactly did M$ make fun of transexuals?  Unless we're now lumping trannies in with disabled people.  Which you won't get much of an argument from me there.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

PS stunts never change my opinion.
Its nice of them sure, but even nicer if they drop the paid online.
I mean if they can give consoles away, why not online as well.

Lol cant please some people.

MS Damage Control Services Incoming... That kid is gonna get 2 Xbox Ones with 5 launch games... Mark my words

At least!

Had me chuckling

The funny thing is that if the kid hadn't gone out and told everyone, he probably would have never got anything from Sony. Now, Sony is going to have to send him the stuff for sure. Everyone here is acting like Sony has done something for them already. All the Sony employee did was tell them they were going to do it. There is a big difference between that and actually doing it. He will get one for sure now.

Meanwhile, Bill gates continue to donate his billions to the poor while Sony is laughing and pointing at him.

Yes, i understand where you are coming from, but i dont think its a very accurate view point in this scenario. You cant expect news like this to break if your Sony (Or else they would do it almost every time and we would hear about it more often) so i dont think you can say their intentions were to get good PR. Now, maybe it was a secondary and bonus points for them if it did but i doubt it was their primary reasoning
