I've mucked around on it a few times and didn't liked it, maybe it's because I don't like change but I found every little task much harder to do on Windows 8.

I'll give it another chance but I wanted to know what is good about it? are there any users that prefer it over Windows 7 or other Windows OS?

What is so hard about Windows 8? I currently have Windows 7 so I wouldn't know xD.

It just felt awkward to me and cluttered, It's probably because I'm not used to it but simple tasks made me nearly want to pull my hair out lol 

I hate to change Windows because you never know what you are going to get xD. I am comfortable with 7 so I will keep using this one. Ditch Windows 8 and get 7!

It's pretty fast. About the only good thing I can say about it, though. I've installed ClassicShell and turned it into a fast version of Windows 7, that's pretty cool.

The only thing good about Windows 8 is that I can install Start8 and never use the "metro" menu at all, other than that it could have been Windows 7 SP2, in the same vein that Windows 7 could have been Windows Vista SP2, except everyone liked Windows 7.

It's terrbile. Buying a laptop with W8 was the worst decision I've ever made. It's so bad that I will not buy any microsoft console or any other product ever again.

I've had it for almost a month now - it's still very frustrating. It was obviously designed for tablets, and just feels shoehorned into my laptop. It feels sluggish; it seems to dominate my cpu usage frequently, it's ridiculously closed to the point where you have to jump through hoops to do a whole bunch of things (I even found opening .exe's a chore). It could grow on me, but right now it still feels like a horrible hybrid between my iphone and windows 7 that just doesn't work well.

The only thing that makes windows 8 hard is learning the interface. It has a whole different approach to computing. With that said, if you don't want to use the new approach, you really don't have to. Just hit one button and go to the standard windows desktop. It is missing a few things, but with (like others have stated) an easy start button add it is just like the old windows. The new version of Windows 8(8.1) comes out in like 2 weeks, and it has a number of minor tweaks to make is more like win 7 for people who can't seem to figure out win 8.

I ran the beta for win 8 on a regular laptop and hated it. Mostly because it wasn't very intuitive (based on previous versions of windows) to know how to use it. Later, I bought a new PC for my boss and it had win 8 on it and I set it up for him. I watched a 20 minute youtube video that explained how to use it and the light bulb went on for me. When I needed to upgrade my work pc earlier this year, I purchased a surface pro and ditched the desktop. I hook it up to a 23" monitor and wireless keyboard and mouse and put the tablet in a drawer. It woerks awesome. I spend 80+ of my time in the desktop. The rest is when I am in tablet mode and then the interface works great on touchscreen.

My recommendation is to wait the 2 weeks for the newer version of win 8.1 before upgrading. It will be easier to use. Either way, to fully utilize windows 8, it is best to get a touchscreen device or monitor. It doesn't need it, but it works slick once you get the hang of it.

it is founded on a flawed assumption... i don't want touch screen controls on a laptop. touch is great on mobile but laptops is where i go when i wanted a deeper/better experience. touching the screen of the laptop is awkward and inefficient.

MS is wrong when they think i want the same experience across all of my devices. i own different devices because i want different experiences.
