offline mode will hardly represent the final product

Around the Network

As long as it is better than WiiU's OS Day-1 I don't see a problem. Took Nintendo almost a year to get it right, so I certainly won't judge MS too harshly now.

Is this a beta build? I mean it was bare-bones and running slow.

But they still have time to optimize it, I guess...

How do you figure that it's "slow"? A couple of seconds to load an app is not slow by any means for a console, not to mention that switching from an app to the dashboard was near instantaneous.

And obviously it is a beta build since it doesn't have anything but the bare essentials. The final product will have all sorts of tabs much like the 360 has right now.

Near the end of the video when he minimizes the app and goes back to the dash you can clearly see slowdown.

Nothing terrible by any stretch and most likely non-existant by the time launch comes around.

Exactly.

And when you are on a demo tour, this is not the best example to show off what your brand new, high-en system can do :?

I re-watched the video and you're right there is a slowdown at the end. Not that it surprises me mind you, I fully expect slowdowns like that in the finished product from time to time because I've yet to come across an operating system that doesn't at least occasionally get laggy or slow. But hey as long as it's better than the 360 (which I think is almost unbearably slow, sluggish, and laggy most of the time) then I'll be quite happy.

Why bother really, that looked like dog shit.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Doesn't look that good. But then again the console has not even launched and even after it has launched, things like this can be improved quite a bit.

Anyone notice they guy, the doing doing the browsing? Notice how he's touching the controller like he's obsessed or something!?

The offline dashboard is never a pretty sight.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I think many are missng the point of the dash.

Its customisable. Size of tiles, Faveourites etc. Anyonne with WIndows 8 or WP8 will know that mine will be customised to me and yours to you. Looking vastly different.

Buy or go to a phone shop and look at WP8 phones. They look dull and lifeless. Own one or see someones customised WP8 and it is alive and beautiful.

looks... worse than i expected, and i wasnt expecting much since i hate windows 8
