Forums - Gaming Discussion - Are you part of the Wii U is doomed crowd or Vita is doomed crowd?

I seem to ( sadly) be biased against..

Wii U 71 25.54%

Vita 142 51.08%

3DS 20 7.19%

other ( post below ) But ... 45 16.19%

Total:278

Well I just bought a Wii U, so hopefully not.

the difference is that one is technically superior in its market but lacking good support while the other is technically behind in its market (if you consider it next gen) and also lacks good support for it.

As time goes on, I think vita will get better than the wii U will. WiiU will probably get worse since most of the third party games its getting now is because developers are scaling the games according to PS3/360. once next gen games stop releasing on ps3/360, most of them wont bother making a special version for wiiU, or nintendo will have to pay a premium for it which they wont for every multiplatform game....which still wont look as good as ps4/xb1

I still cant figure out how black ops declassified went so wrong on the vita (supposed to be what sells the vita, turned out to be lowest rated vita game on metacritic), and why despite vita's power and RAM, fifa is just a kit update (even on the 3ds).

on the bright side, we still havent seen big titles like GTA, god of war and gran turismo pushing the limits on the vita so theres still hope for that whereas the wiiU is already as good as it gets.

Bold 1: both sony and ms said ps3 and 360 would receive their games until 2016. witch will be almost all the lifetime of wii u,

Bold 2: we havent seen mario kart, ssb, 3d mario, dk and a new zelda, so theres much more hope for wii u, also ubisoft is hoping for it. they believe that the millions of people who bought the previous versions of these games would buy a wii u to play the next game.

Neither one.

The Vita will end up doing moderately well in Japan. It has an excellent attach rate and the games are coming.

The Wii U will become a moderate success. The problem is that the Wii was an anomaly that even a "Wii 2" wouldn't have come close to duplicating. Once the Wii U builds a library of games like Mario Kart and Smash Bros., it will be okay.

People are just going to have to get used to the idea that both Sony handhelds and Nintendo home consoles will probably be niche markets more often than not. Unless there is another viral craze, both lines will probably not touch the market leaders. Likewise, people also need to get over the fact that this is not necessarily a failure.

I don't think any system is doomed. No system has failed to at least be moderately successful in the market since Saturn, correct? Or am I forgetting one? Even DreamCast lasted for a few years and a lot of people played on it.

PS Vita doesn't need a giant install base to be successful. How do you measure success? PS Vita owners, according to Sony, spend a large amount of money on download games and accessories, more so than other systems. So you can't just go buy physical packaged sales and say "Oh, that system is dead." As long as there's a large enough niche, any system can survive.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

Both are doomed but I think Wii U is slightly more doomed simply because Vita's competition is already out and at full force (3DS). Wii U's competition (PS3 and 360) is 7 year old, the new competitors are coming (PS4 and Bone), and Wii U will be sandwiched between the four of them...

People who don't know much about Nintendo really just need to stop talking about Nintendo. Aren't you the one who said "every Nintendo developer has had a chance to make a Wii U game?"

Seriously, stop with the ignorance.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I own both of them and I hope they do better than they are currently

Wii U actual has games that could save it. This year and next. I highly doubt Tearaway will save it since Zelda A Link Between Worlds and Super Mario 3D World are releasing the same day. And Xbox one as well.
