Forums - Gaming Discussion - 'Nobody gains from console exclusivity,' says Sony's dev relations boss

.....He is aware that exclusives are the main reason why consoles are still relevant, with most mid range PC getting cheaper. Console were built off exclusives starting back in the eighties and nineties. Icons like Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, is what help spread the word of the consoles their exclusive to. I can understand the business side of focusing more on appealing the third party audiences to make PC gaming more affordable, but you need exclusives to help push your consoles. Games like The Last of Us, Super Mario Galaxy, Halo is what help push your brand.

What I miss are 3rd party exclusives, This is probably why I never get so hype over specs because I mainly play exclusives then third party titles. Shame gaming is changing coming next gen, I always felt the Wii was the very last true gaming console because their wasn't any updates you have to worry about or freezing. Call of Duty played much better on the Wii and oddly the Wii U then on the PS3, not sure how it plays on 360. You buy a game, pop it in and BAM your playing a game. Sadly, seem like the Wii U is being pressure to join the HD twins or trying to be like the HD twins which is turning out to be quite the failure.

Consoles are going to slowly start being similar to the point where they feel the same.....pretty much how it felt for the pass four years. Probably good for business, but as a gamer, an old time gamer from the ninties ....depressing..... Well there's always Sonic Lost World, Mario 3D World, Kanck, Rachet and Clank into the Nexus, Mighty No. 9, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero and so on ....ok part of this list aren't exclusives but there games I'm looking forward to it.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games
