A very revealing podcast? Does she get naked?

Seth: Really? I can't tell if you meant that as a joke because of what has been said before, I hope so, cause if not you'll certainly be best friends with bugrimmar.

Frequency: I am sorry you're opinions are not heard. I would like to hear them.

Dr. Grass: You're missing the point, less than bugrimmar is but I'll get to him soon. We're not saying females need to be in every game, that's pointless, and stupid, some games don't need gender characters. Journey was pointed out in the podcast and is a great example. Tell your guys good luck with Broforce, I hope it does well. If all your characters are male then great. I have no problem with that.

Bugrimmar: No, again, once more, no. Oh yeah, wow. It's not about one or the other, it's about both. Men and women should be treated equally in games which will lend itself to a better experience. See that? That's logic. You say I'm nitpicking, I'm not, I'm saying facts. A game shouldn't have to rely on the looks of a character to sell. It's happened ALL THE TIME!!!

You like how they look, fine. I never started this topic to convert radicals like yourself. I liked the podcast cause it shed new light on a topic that I had had feelings before and wanted to share it so other people could hear the examples they gave. You don't care, fine, leave.

You want to go basics? Ok, here's my argument in basics. Females are being misrepresented in game, some intentionally, some intentionally. It's not just one game, or one franchise, or one developer, or one console, it's everywhere. They're making "eye-candy" instead of deep characters, and we're noticing. Don't believe me? Think about Other M, they bring that up, fans were in an uproar about how Samus was treated in that game, which is why it didn't sell as well as the Prime Trilogy.

It's like they admitted, it sells. They don't like it, I don't like it, but it's there. I believe that should change.

In case you didn't know, I have a comic book called Guardians. I'm the writer/creator of it, and we have four issues out right now, with our fifth coming out soon!

We're also doing a Patreon right now for the comic, and I'd appreciate any and all help in getting it funded. If 56 people pledged $3 per issue, we'll be funded

Yeah, and if it was intentional, so freaking what?

If you don't like it, then don't play the damn game. If you don't care about the character, leave him/her alone and let others who do like him/her alone. You don't have to go around imposing your stupid opinion on everyone just because women can't make good enough games to change the industry standard.

Go, find your female developer who can make HaloGranTurismoMetroid 5000, and make men and women equal there. Meanwhile, as it stands, THE INDUSTRY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR LITTLE PETITIONS. I'm done with this stupid argument. Arguing with minorities in an area is just futile.

Good, I'm tired of arguing with a guy who hates minorities and thinks he's superior. Goodbye.

to everyone else, if you haven't already, listen to the podcast (link in my signature) and let's chat.

just checked, it is on ITunes. It's free obviously...not sure why they say it's "explicit", they don't do profanity as far as I could tell...whatever, but yeah it's there.

it's explicit because it's stupid.

I thought you left? Besides if we're talking stupidity you should come with a warning label. Bye!

Anyway, I think its an error. I listened to some of the podcasts (other than the women in gaming) and while some use profanity (one guy in particular mostly) the others are clean, must be a misbrand.

Didn't listen, but let me guess how it goes. "WHAAA women are portayed as sex objects in games, whaaaaa!!!1" Seriously, I see absolutely NO problem here.. If you don't like it, don't buy it, don't support it. This stuff is fake. It isn't real. It's a freaking video game!

And if you REALLY believe in this idea that men will somehow think less of women, threat them poorly, treat them as sex objects ,etc.., because of a VIDEO GAME, than that dude has problems in the first place.. Games don't create such behavior.

I really just do not see any issue here.. This is just getting ridiculous.

Actually no its not. Are there parts like that? Sure, but they also go into the reasoning behind it (to explain both sides) they talk about how certain games are "tailored" to genders, they talk about how our society has changed the thought process of future female gamers. They talk about developers, those who have done right, and those who have done "wrong".

It's not so much that men think less than women, I REALLY hope we've evolved past that illogical thought, it more that they talk about how developers do these things to sell more games.

And if you don't listen to the podcast you honestly shouldn't comment, for all you know they might say something that you might agree with. Listen, then judge if you wish. At least then you'll know what they said.
