Rental options certainly change the dynamic from what i was imagining.

I like how dynamic they're making overworld controls, too. That was one of my bigger gripes with Link to the Past (simple things that, in the real world or in 3D Zeldas, Link could just scrabble over or climb on, become insurmountable obstacles. No longer)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I agree at some point with you. Rental is not the answer, buying it is. At first, that's what I believe it will be and you need to gain as many items as posible to complete dungeons.

My only hope is that you can at least rent a lot of items and not only one.

Actually, I think you may still acquire the dungeon item in its dungeon. You rent the Hammer, then go to the Hammer dungeon. If it's too hard or you change your mind or whatever, go back and rent a different item. But if you make it through the dungeon, you'll find the Hammer for keeps.

Basically, I think the game will be 100% playable without ever going to the rental shop.

Apparently, the items will be available for rental or purchase (at a higher cost). No items found in dungeons.

OP Updated. I'll try to look for Ravio artwork.

Hm. Iwata does say you can purchase them eventually. Maybe only after completing the dungeon that requires them? Anyway, in the scene shown in the trailer, only a "Rent" option is presented.

A Link Between Worlds:
- Find dungeons.
- Explore dungeons at your own pace.
- Items no longer found in dungeons. Purchasable from in-game store with rupees.
- Purchase or rent. Former gives you the item permanently for a high price, latter gives you the item with a temporary amount of uses for a lower cost.
- Buy items in any order.
- Take items to dungeons and experiment.

Wait a moment, that sounds awful. You mean I can be in the middle of a boss fight and the item needed to defeat the boss can just stop working because I used it too many times?

Now I want to play this game just to see how this new mechanic works

I think it will be more like one rent at a time. You rent the hammer, you can't the hookshoot. Until you bring back the first one, you can't have the second one.

I also believe at first you can't buy them, maybe something after a while will let you get that option. Beating the dungeon could be, as you said, but I don't think so.

That's what I assumed, too, but your own OP contradicts this! lol
