Forums - Politics Discussion - So since the health exchanges are up....

How are your healthcare costs effected so far in the exchanges vs what you pay now.

Right now I'm paying $90.69 a month.  (Which, is weird, i swore i paid more.)

Looks like under the new plan the cheapest i'll get is 169.59.  Not counting any subsidies.

Making my cost increase $78.90.   And i lose my $25 dollar doctor office co=pay.

Though not counting any subsidies i might or might not get.  Which depends on if it's soley revenue based or includes investment/wealth.

Well, right now i pay $0 for health insurance, haven't been to a doctor for anything other than a check up in over 7 years and i always pay full. Now my cheapest is $178 a month which means i'll be living close to pay check to paycheck now... cool.

Unable to create account....healthcare.gov is already broken.

Seems like there are a lot of day one problems. That's to be expected though.

kasz - are you straight paying out of pocket or is that company subsidized?

...i personally pay $3.38 per month in employee contribution. no idea what my company pays. i'm in the "barely covered" category as i'm young and doctor-phobic. There are mid and high coverage plans as well. don't remember the details but it's around $130 and $250 in monthly employee contributions.

get coverage through benefits.

so, not at all.

That sounds awful! No surprise there. Obamacare is a joke... only raising costs for most Americans and wasting more of our borrowed money and tax dollars...

My health Insurance is $90 a month and will be dropping to $80 at the beginning of the year without a change in coverage, So everything worked out for me.

I don't have to use the exchanges because my insurance is through my work.

Out of pocket.  It's really not that bad of a plan.    I have it set up so i have 4 really $25 doctors visits a year and then protection from huge healthcare problems so i don't go bankrupt if i develop a long term condition.

The current plans are worse, but then again, if it's purely income based and my assets aren't accounted I could be paying a lot less.

I currently pay $71/week for family coverage, so over $280/month.

No idea what it is going to be because my CFO said they are still trying to work the numbers a bit to try and keep costs down, but my costs will be going up.

So I am probably looking at over $300/month for coverage for me, my fiance and my daughter.
