Getting my hype back for NHL as it brings a lot of changes for the Avalanche. Early last year they lost their winger Steve Downie to a season ending injuury. Quite a player to lose in the first three games. A mucker, a rough-tough-mother-fucker that can score and deal a physical presence. Well, in the new season he is back healthy along with a few new and old faces. Colorado stole the top pick from Florida (who had the leagues worst record) to tkae Nathan McKinnon as the number one pick. The center who is called the next player to be close to Sidny Crosby ii skill. He continues the trend of the Avs goal to become great again through drafting sillfull top notch forwards. The old come back as well in the super bald hero of the Avs 2001 Stanley Cup winning team game 7 game winning goal scoring hero,  Alex Tanguay. Tanguay will be an older veteran looking to lead the team to the winning philosophy that ran for so long in the Joe SaKic era.

New head coach Patrick Roy looks to give the team new spirit and brings back many winning all stars to the Avs staff. Adam Foote is back as defensive advisor as he waits for his number 52 to join Sacik, Roy, Forseberg and Bourque a the top of the Pepsi center as a retired hero. Joe Sackic will lead the way once again as being in charge of hocey operations. When you put them all together they know how to win and they are ready to guide their team back to victory.

The divisions have changed which is big for the Avalanche. They now face five new division opponents in Blackhawks, Blues, Stars, Jets, and Predators while keeping old rival the Wild as punching bags. The new central division looks very fresh to me. I am excited to play teams closer to Denver. And, the chance for new rivalries is born.

Finally, I would like to give a final fairwell to Detriot. Piss off and enjoy beating on a defenseless Eastern Conference. New Season bring it on!

I didn't know Tanguay was still playing. Also, I loved Roy as a goalie so I hope he fits as coach.

Also, FUCK NASHVILLE AND SAINT LOUIS! They put in ticket restrictions just for the Blackhawks because they are a bunch of whiny babies that more Chicago fans show up than St Louis fans

Yeah, Tanguay bounced around on a couple of teams. Mostly Calgary where he played with Jerome Iginla. He was largely responsible for assisting on a lot of Iginla's goals.

There were Chicago fans in a lot of arenas. It was strange.

I think there are a couple of Canucks fans here. But the posters really dried up to only about 5. Hopefully this year more people will join. If you post more often i promise i wont be too hard on you

well hopefully a few o the nucks fans come back,  we're gonna have a better year now that we finally ditched AV.  Im really liking torts so far.  im also a big fan of the realignment, the NW was far to easy before.

Yes, been a hawks fan since I was a wee lad when Roenick, Chelios and Belfour were on the team. I played goalie then so my favorite players of all time are goalies. Belfour, Roy, Irbe and Rudy were always fun for me to watch.

Last year it was like 3 or 4 Blackhawks fans posting and 2 Wild fans and 1 Avalanch fan. Every once in a while some Wings fans and Canucks fans would post.

Canucks nation is vast ;) im shocked to hear anyone would still be an avs fan.. lol ill be fine aslong as there isnt any big bruins fans. ive been a nucks aslong as i can remember, 25+ years.. 2 trips to the finals, no cup :(  But i do know people who got arrested for rioting.  Thats how i knew there would be a riot, They bought booze well before and went down specifically to riot, win or loose lol    I grew up watching Bure, with my all time favorite Odjick, such a great enforcer i miss him..

Always fun to converse with the opposition of a rival, I have a friend in chicago from an online game way back and well ussually chat a bit during the inevitable playoff meeting they always seem to have.
