Haven't play GTAV but I can not imagine the game giving me the same experience as the Last of Us. That game simply blew me away.

If I had $60 to spend then GTA no contest. Actually at any price GTA would be a better value by far. Last of Us is i guess considered more "artsy?" Personally I didn't think it was that great.

Artsy? How? There is nothing artsy about LOU, having good story and characters is not artdy. It's a pretty gritty, dark, game with great gameplay and is the entire package And LOU as great MP.

 

LOU is quality > quantity. GTA is quantity over quality.

Last of us for me. When comparing the 2 IMO the Last of Us has the better graphics, better story, better character, better gameplay mecanics and also it has a pretty awesome multiplayer. The last of is also a new IP even though with similar themes as other games it really makes a memorable and original story experience. Not to take anything from GTA because I think its an awesome game but it wasnt as good as the Last Of Us.

As far as what game will win most gaming cites Game of the Year it will be GTA V but I think the Last Of Us deserves it more.

TLOU is a great game but you have to admit it focuses more on being "artsy" than value. If they would have given more value over trying too be to arsty all the time I would have claimed it even better than GTA V

As much as i love GTA V, the last of us wins just because it's something different. I guess how i see it, it's interesting to see how society and humanity would be when it finally got to it's downfall.

In terms of official GOTYs from review sites etc, and the Spike VGAs I'm going to call it for GTAV as the game that will get the most GOTYs. For me personally TLOU gets the nod, partly because I'm not allowed to play GTA games (under threat of denial of sex) so I can only vote for games I know. But I have a feeling I'd probably go for TLOU over GTAV even if I did get to play GTAV because TLOU is more my thing.

No I have to admit....ow is it Artsy? A troy and characters doesn't make something artsy. There is nothing artsy in TLOU. Journey is artsy, TLOU is simply not.

 

As for value? Quality > quantity. TLOu is more then enough value.
