X1 has the only AAA 60fps/1080p with good graphics which is forza
ryse will be 1080p it was confirmed by crytek

think they confirmed it would upscale to 1080p

I think more games will run at Native 1080p when they start using AMD's Mantle thing since Direct X has sooo much damn overhead compared to most other architectures

I think ps4 is using OpenGL and not direct X but correct me if I am wrong

The DirectX in Xbone is already below the Mantle on PC... what Mantle is doing is try to imitate the Xbone DirectX and PS4 API on PC.

Dinyamic resolution was the same thing that WipEout on PS3 did... the game chanes the horizontal resolution internaly to hold the framerate. WipEout in low speeds runs always close to 1920x1080 but in the highest speeds the game drop to 1280x1080... so you can have in some intense part a resolution like 1572x1080.

The game always change the horizontal resolution to mantain the framerate always in 60fps (in the DR3 case 30fps).

damn my post about the faster car in forza 5 had some weight then!

Ryse was confirmed 900p native... all games are upscalled to 1080p in Xbone like they did with 360... I don't like that because I prefer native resolutions in my TV (if the game runs at 720p I prefer it displayed in 720p).

Which post? Forza 5 changes LOD model of the cars but the resolution is fixed .

About the WipEout I found the link.

"Basically WipEout HD is the first game I've come across that seems to be operating with a dynamic framebuffer. Resolution can alter on a frame-by-frame basis. Rather than introduce dropped frames, slow down or other unsavoury effects, the number of pixels being rendered drops and the PS3's horizontal hardware scaler is invoked to make up the difference.

The actual amount of horizontal resolution being dropped can change on a frame by frame basis: 1728x1080, 1645x1080, 1600x1080, 1440x1080. All have been seen in the Digital Foundry TrueHD captures. The shots above appear to be 1500x1080.

The dynamic framebuffer is really quite an innovative solution to the perennial 1080p problem."

WipEout hold solid 60fps no matter what

...

my post about the faster car in forza. if it is harder to reach 1080p with higher speed then it's more impressive to have 1080p with a car driving 175mph as with the car driving 111km/h.

my post was obviously only a joke.

I remember now... I was just tried to figure what post you are talking thanks.

So wow an incomplete list of a random selection of games with mostly unconfirmed facts

I wish there was a Wipeout in development for PS4 :(

HD/Fury were stunningly beautiful.

Doesn't really matter. There are tons of Wii U games in 1080p. That doesn't mean that Mario Kart is going to be more technically impressive than Ryse, by any stretch of the imagination. Most of the xbone devs seemingly opted for more detail over higher resolution. Not a big deal.

Resolution only doesn't dis-matter when it makes Nintendo games appear not un-good or Sony games not dissatisfactorily and shall always be regarded when they do invalidate other non-factors of not inexclusive works appearing on non-Nintendo-non-Sony systems
