Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wealthy Vita owner's, what would get you to want a less powerful 3ds?

I was wealthy once but life took everything away from me and now I cannot even afford a 3DS.

But on a serious note. I like Project X Zone and Bravely Default. Maybe Shin Megami Tensei 4 but I am more of a Persona fan than the original series.

nothing really.

vita has more games coming that i want to play that i can handle so there simply isn't a need. vita gets more games than 3DS even if they aren't the AAA retail hits that 3DS has gotten. ..but the smaller indie games vita gets in droves suits me well for a handheld. then throw in "free" ps+games too. doesn't really matter what 3DS does at this point, vita is just more than i need already.

I'm not all too satisfied with the Vita; I've only had it for a month now and I wish I'd gone with a 3ds instead. There's really not many games that interest me on the handheld. I find that most of the games I play are old psp games instead of actual vita games made for vita.

The one good thing I think Vita currently has over the 3ds is PS plus. If it wasn't for the instant game collection and free games - I'd be totally disappointed.

There's some good games coming in the future, but not really enough to have justified my 200 dollar purchase. Or at least not yet. I'm still waiting.

I can look past all the technical weaknesses of the 3DS so long as the game is great.

I have both systems, but overall I find the 3DS line up lacks variety and so is my secondary handheld system. Especially as it can't go head to head with anything so if it's not completely 3DS exclusive, it's not worth bothering with, with the exception of Ocarina of Time 3D and Star Fox 3D which improve on their predecessors in every way and are reason enough to own a 3DS.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

I already own a 3DS so.... nothing?

Although the exclusive 3DS library is only a bit better. If there's not many good Vita exclusives, then I'd like more 3DS exclusives.

For first party I want an Advance Wars and F Zero.

For third party. Where the hell is my Chocobo Racing. Square Enix announced it before the launch of the 3DS and then nothing. Is this another game they're going to sit on for nine years before they release it?

I'd like Dragon Quest 7 and Dragon Quest Monsters released in the US. I'd like another exploration based SotN style Castlevania, as long as it's good. Something better than Portrait of Ruin. So as good as Dawn of Sorrow.  High quality 2D would be fine with me. Maybe some 3D backgrounds like on the DS ones, but not really required.

Considering I already own one - nothing. But considering my background with the PSVita (ask RolStoppable for details) I probably don't fit in this thread anyways :P

PLEASE fix that typo in the thread title. It kills me.

(and english isn't even my 1st language)

Mario, Mario Kart, classic come backs, Smash, Japan imports, Animal Crossing, killer 3rd party games, do not seem to interest you because maybe the visuals are not up to date or you just do not trust Nintendo anymore maybe?

So what would get you to purchase one? Or even consider it?

Well, for me it's very easy to answer.

I would consider getting a 3DS, (and would have considered getting any Nintendo handheld in the past), if only SOME games were ALSO aimed to adult gamers like me. Mario and any platform, Mario Kart and any "kart" game, Smash and any "Smash" game, Animal Crossing and Japan imports for kids absoulutely means nothing to me. My attraction to such games, be they well coded and produced AAA masterpieces or shovelware, or anything in between these extremes, amounts to zero.

If it weren't for the Sony PSP (four Metal Gear games, two Ace Combat, two Valkyria Chronicles, two Dissidia, Crisis Core, Danganronpa, Last Ranker, ...) I wouldn't have even considered purchasing an handheld at all for the rest of my life...

Now I have a Vita, and I'm enjoying games like Gravity Rush, Assassin Creed III, Metal Gear Soild HD collection, and the odd import JRPGs...

So, in few words, I find 3DS games too kiddish and/or too clearly aimed for casual consumers to be really appealing to me. If you add the fact that the 3DS is regon blocked, there's no way for me to truly enjoy such a device (or any Nintendo handheld device) even it I could get one for free.

And no, I'm not a Nintendo hater. I was one of the first guys in my city to get a SuperFamicom! ;)

You're the perfect market shrill actually^ Full of buzz terms
Y'all need to come up with better arguments for real

3DS has Metal Gear, it has Castlevania, It has resident evil, it has Shin Megami Tensei, it has Virtues Last Reward,it has Tom Clancy.
Are you a gamer or not? Or are you deprived of any sense of fealty?

Sure Nintendo makes games that appeal to a wide audience. That's how they make their money, but acting like that's all that is there is ridiculous;.

"wealthy" lol.

I got them both. I like having good systems. :)

I do prefer the Vita, but it doesnt mean i dont enjoy my 3DS aswell.
