Forums - Gaming Discussion - Panasonic and Nintendo teaming up

(Edit: More info. Especially gesture recognition. Nintendo camera incoming.)

Apparently Nintendo worked with them on hand-writing recognition software for the DS, which is odd since the company was established on April 2nd 2012. Would be a little late for DS to make use of that, but maybe I'm not seeing something. More info.

Here is a not really mind-blowing video of PUX at the MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS 2013:

So, from hand-writing recognition to multi-screen codecs, it looks like they have their hand in a variety of UI research.

uh..... does this mean were going to be seeing a Wii U version of this

well, Retro Studios wasn't mind blowing. They were at the bridge of bankruptcy, they were developing 4 games for Nintendo after the adquisition but none were up to the task. It is not what they are right now, but what they can be together with Nintendo. AS everything else right now with Nintendo and the WIi U (because 3DS is jjust flying off the shelf, as if it has wings to fly by itself) we will have to wait and see what happen.

Wii U really is GameCube 2.

Lets hope Nintendo doesn't pull a fast one on Panasonic like they did on Sony.

Of course, of course. Also, the gesture recognition would have a huge potential for Nintendo's future in the living room.

Nintendo 3DO?

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

They have a close relationship with Panasonic since the GameCube (they made the propriatory disc format for them)

...and the falling out between Nintendo and Sony was not only because of Nintendo !

Probably not worth getting too excited about. Remember when Nintendo invested all of that money into holographic storage?

You place your R&D bets, then you spin the wheel of fortune.
