People are still getting way too hung up on the Legends delay. Guys, it's selling best on Wii U. Nintendo wins this fight by default. Whining about the delay now is only giving ammunition to the other sides.

Hell, forget about the fact that it's selling "best" on Wii U, because lots of people here certainly will do just that. They'll say it's not that much better -- not significantly higher. But it doesn't matter how much better it's selling on Wii U. What we have here is a console with less than one-twentieth the install base of both the PS3 and 360 besting them (or just hanging with them, however you prefer to think about it) each individually in software sales for this major multiplatform title.

What does that mean? Does it at least prove that the Wii U is a viable platform for third-party platformers, if not all games? There's nothing wrong with that. The 360 wasn't so great for JRPGs or platformers, was it? But that didn't stop it from getting third-party games, even in those genres, because it was great for shooters and Western RPGs.

Wow, I wasn't expecting to see that big of a hardware boost because of GTA V. I guess this is the last system seller of the generation.

yes, gta sold 16 mill week one, I was expecting a big boost from the ps3 bundles and people buying back their 360 or I was expecting a boost from the impulse buyers when they went pick up their copy of gta


I am not even sure you are being serious, the 360 had a 305% boost without a dedicated bundle to the game........

It had Wind Waker HD last week which probably has the highest system selling potential until Mario in two months (I can see Wii Party selling more SW units than WW, but by virtue of being dirt cheap with a Wii remote).  I'm not sure why you are saying it was without software.  If Wii U sales are going to continue to languish until the end of November, then what was the point of the price cut.  The 3DS more than doubled in the US when OoT 3D released.  Granted it had more than two days, but it also didn't have a price cut and It was also doubling from a higher baseline.  The Wii U has certainly gone up more than 3-4k in the past with just software, no bundle or price drop.

Now with that said, the people predicting 50k+ obviously weren't being realistic.  However acting like 3-4k was to be expected isn't very realistic either.  Regardless, we'll need to wait till NPD to get accurate numbers.


So, according to VGChartz numbers, Wii U did just over 20K this week in North America, and slightly under 20K in the US.  I said that expecting Wii U to double as a result of the two days of priecuttiness was silly, and I am happily wrong about that.  Nice to see Wii U sales expressed as a five digit number.  Hopefully that trend will continue.

yeah, i think gta is advertised worldwide? as ps3 exclusive and it has an exclusive bundle +bundles like the gta+tlou bundle in uk so i also don't believe these 360 numbers.

well, if the 360 numbers are right then i think ps3 is undertracked but i rather believe that 360 is overtracked and maybe ps3 as well but not as much.
