Or most people who have a PS3 are planning on getting a PS4, so they aren't missing out on anything.

That was cruel.  You shouldn't break the OP in the second comment, it's just inconsiderate.

On a side note, I love how "a few die-hard fans complaining online" turns into  "immense backslash".  I'm sorry, but only a relatively few people care about Bayonetta.  The exaggeration of that response is the only thing "immense" about it.

Well, not much I can say there.  There had to be well over a dozen comments in that video!  Immense blacklash indeed!

Dude, look, I understand, you want it to be a big deal so that it seems like a big win for Nintendo, but let's be realistic about this.  While I actually DO think it's a nice win for Nintendo, how many people do you think were honestly upset by this?  Most people who played it probably don't even know about the switch.  I guess that a large chunk of the negative comments were just fanboys looking for a reason to flame and, even then, a few hundred or even a few thousand people online complaining isn't a big deal by any stretch of the immagination.  Of course, more than a few of those comments were directed at Sega for failing to publish Bayonetta 2 and are quite justified.

*facepalm*

How the fuck can you miss all these butthurt comments about the game is beyond me.

even if the entirity of ps3 owners had the intention to upgrade, most of them do it after 3 years of the console release. that's a lot of people waiting far longer than they should, to play a game that should be on the previous system.

People aren't upset FFXV is going to be a next gen exclusive, just like how people aren't upset that Killzone Shadow Fall or inFamous Second Son is going to be a next gen exclusive.

You're not making a whole lot of sense.

killzone and infamous weren't announced as ps3 exclusives many years before. and if people aren't upset because of those, why would they be upset about bayonetta 2 on wii u?

It's because Bayo went from two devices to one, while Final Fantasy went from one device to two.

Nothing to do with next gen. Everybody just wants to play the games ;)

I think most poeple assume by the time they buy a PS4 (3 years or so), that FFXV will just finally be releasing.  So they aren't missing out on time at all.,

i don't think the 50 millions plus people are going to ditch their 3 years old PS3 for another one more expensive for just a few games.

50 million people don't care about Final Fantasy XV, either. But the ones who do and who care enough about games post on video game forums are probably going to be buying a next generation console by the time FFXV comes out (2080 or so).

Given that immense bitterness on the part of Sony and or Microsoft fans is still the predominant discourse about Bayonetta 2 pretty much anywhere you find discussion on Bayonetta 2 that doesn't have a strong moderation policy (here we largely keep it contained, TVTropes is stricter and their thread is quite civil, but head on over to GameFAQs, damn.) demonstrates that more people cared about it than the game's sales would suggest.

That said, this thread is pretty silly.

if bayonetta 2 was announced as ps4 or xone exclusive, you think the reaction would have been the same? this thread somewhat proves the answer is a big NO. So the rage is not about the game not coming to their current platforms, it's about the game coming to nintendo only. basically, double standards.

Ok, I just noticed something. When bayonetta 2 was announced as a wii u exclusive, there was an immense backslash from fans. the main argument was "Now I must buy a wii u if I want to play this game that should be on my platform".

when final fantasy XV was confirmed for ps4 and xone, no ps3 version, nothing really happened. I'm sure some were dissapointed but I don't recall any visible backslash from ps3 owners.

now let's compare. Bayo 2 was never announced for ps360, it was always wii u only as soon as the first news were released for it. And people complained about having to buy a next gen system in order to play a next gen exclusive (the basic reason to buy a new system). Final fantasy XV was announced in 2007 as PS3 EXCLUSIVE and 6 years later it was said that it won't release on ps3 at all, only ps4 and xone confirmed. Yet you don't see ps3 owners complain about having to buy a ps4/xone in order to play a game that WAS ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO BE ON PS3.

So all I can conclude is that when something benefits nintendo, it will always be received with hate. if the same kind of thing benefits sony/ms, there's little to no hate at all.

Maybe because Bayonetta was an awesome game and has many fans, and Bayonetta 2 seems to be even more awesome.

Final Fantasy XV is ... another Final Fantasy game, and many core gamers don't care about it anymore, after FF13.

How you can miss the entire point of what I wrote is beyond me, to be honest, and I mean that in all sincerity.  A few people making a lot of noise is still a few people, no matter how much noise they make.  Anyway, that aside, do you really think a video showing a couple dozen negative comments is really proof of anything?  Hell, I could have probably found better proof myself and I'm on the other side of the argument.

neither of those two being the original announced device.

ummm interesting... people that wait and are really craving for a upcoming game are the one and the same that buys their consoles late into the generation?

strange logic here...

also @OP
not that i really know anything about bayonetta (besides playing the demo and don't like it), but the issue i do remember about it was the changing completely platforms between the first installment and the second (first PS, XB - second, nintendo only) and some logic apply in the complain, why is a game jumping platforms completely making the first installment buyers into strangers and strangers into followers of a already ongoing story??? in the FF case... PS players would still have the game in their platform of choice, not exclusively, but it will there non the less...
not that is care... but common sense apply here... no need to put that much though into it to find it...

edit: grammar
