Forums - Gaming Discussion - 20 prominent indie developers that favored Xbox 360 now develop, favor or are exclusive to PS4 (list included)

Tagged games:

Despite differences in appearance and specs the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are quite similar. However, there is one area where this is not the case. From having released their games for the Xbox 360, at least 20 notable indie developers now develop, favor or are exclusive for PlayStation 4 meaning their games won’t be available on Xbox One.

For some indie developers it is because of bad experiences from a previous collaboration with Microsoft, but generally it seems like the PlayStation 4 is the platform that these developers prefer to see their games on. Could it be because of Sony's respect for indies made clear by Santa Monica's collaboration with The Chinese Room (Dear Esther, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs) on Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and Naughty Dog's praise of indie developers especially for their creation of characters?

And meanwhile, in other news, more and more indie devs, including a few you just mentioned, are lining up to develop for Wii U eShop. Which is music to my ears.

All i can say, its i want Rime & transistor badly. i am buying more & more indie game, they more cheap and less the same of every years game.

one of my fav game this gen was pixel junk monster :)

I really hope Sony starts making some Indie bundles out on disc next gen.  If they really want to embrace Indies next gen so much then go all the way with it.

Some Indie devs take weird decisions... all I would've done would be to not be exclusive to MS ever again but for odd reasons they decide to completely not develop for MS at all... really?

Microsoft is spending capital a billion dollars on exclusives and Sony is chasing indies. I can't decide what's the better deal.

Except most of those were before ms allowed self publishing. chances are when there exclusive deal with Sony is done you'll see those games on PC and the x1

The better deal? The developers who are swindling MS out of their money. Unless MS gets 40 5mil+ sellers (which they wont) they got jipped big time. However, most people were able to realize the 1 billion figure for what it was. PR talk. half of it went to get some fantasy football stats.

I think Rime, Outlast, The Witness, Transistor etc. are nice to have between the major releases that PS4 also is going to have (haven't you heard about Naughty Dog, Guerrilla Games, Polyphony Digital, Ready at Dawn, Quantic Dream, Santa Monica, Media Molecule, Sucker Punch, Evolution Studios etc?)The article is about indies. Why even mention "billion dollar exclusives"?
