Forums - Gaming Discussion - Gameranking's Top J-RPG's of All Time

I saw that thread of Gameranking's top remakes of all-time and I noticed there were many J-RPGs, so I decided to do something similar but with the top J-RPGs of All-Time. All of them have 10+ reviews, if a game is multiplatform, I used the highest score of all the versions of the game:

  • Chrono Trigger (SNES) - 95.64%
  • Persona 4 Golden (PSV, PS2)- 94.16%
  • Final Fantasy III (SNES) - 93.96%
  • Final Fantasy IX (PS)- 93.32%
  • Final Fantasy VII (PS) - 92.35%
  • Chrono Crosss (PS) - 92.18%
  • Vagrant Story (PS) - 91.97
  • Xenoblade Chronicles (WII) - 91.74
  • Final Fantasy X (PS2) - 91.73%
  • Pokemon Silver Version (GBC) - 91.35
  • Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (DS) - 91.01
  • Xenogears (PS) - 90.99%
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 (PSP, PS2) - 90.77%
  • Final Fantasy XII (PS2) - 90.77%
  • Skies of Arcadia (DC) - 90.59%
  • Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (GBA) - 90.50%
  • Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (PS2) - 90.05%
  • Demon's Souls (PS3) - 89.72%
  • Final Fantasy VIII (PS) - 89.17%
  • Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (SNES) - 89.12%
The only games of this generation are Xenoblade Chronicles and Demon's Souls.
A lot of them are PlayStation 1 games (6 out of 20)

Number one is rightfully deserved.

Mario has three games up there. Not bad for a platforming hero.

I made a bet with JoeTheBro on February 19, 2014. I say the 3DS will outsell the PS4 at least one month in 2014, he says the 3DS won't. Whoever is right gets to control the other person's sig for a month.

Check out Ohga Shrugs!

Love and tolerate.

Final Fantasy X! Yay!

Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, dem gem.

6 of them are Final Fantasy games and the highest rated of all them is Final Fantasy VI (III in the US)

I met someone on here who would vehemently oppose to that.

No love for FF IV :(

Edit: Nor to Lufia :'(

"She knew that my memories of her would fade. Which is precisely why she begged me never to forget her, to remember that she had existed. The thought fills me with an almost unbearable sorrow. Because Naoko never loved me."

This list is awesome. While I might fiddle with the order it looks really good.

No Suikoden makes me a bit sad tho.

Chrono Trigger deserves it.

Also FF6 (3), FF9 and FF7 in the top 5 - Awesome :D

Chrono Cross is awesome

Still need to play Persona 4.
