how is it off base if its true?

Fact: a game will use 100% of the power of an xbox one
Fact: " for every Xbox One we're provisioning the CPU and storage equivalent of three Xbox Ones on the cloud. We're doing that flat out so that any game developer can assume that there's roughly three times the resources immediately available to their game, so they can build bigger, persistent levels that are more inclusive for players"

result: a xbox one connected to the cloud will have several benefits when computing

 

 

and a sidenote on the first part of thread title fact if the cloud server gets an upgrade a xbox connected to the cloud will have more external power available.

Firstly the Cloud can't be used to render/compute any part of the game that is reactive... so 90% of the code can't be done in Cloud... only parallel non-reactive code can be done on Cloud.

Second... nothing changed... even with always online the dev will need to have a backup code that works offline... the game will have to run even if you are offline.

Cloud won't give you more power or graphics... it will enhancement the experience with better non-reactive simulations data. And nothing done on Cloud can't be done in a dedicated server... there arw nothing new with the Cloud because Cloud are a cluster of dedicated servers.

how serious is this post if you contradict yourself within 3 sentences?

then again it is not my loss if you can't see that the cloud/serverbased tech is gonna be quite the innovation future in the next few years. i have never seen you take into account future innovations, just based on current situation. if you can't do that then you can't see the tech improving.

im gonna pull a JL and say at the end of this gen the cloud will triple its power per xbox one!

thats exactly what im theorising with my assumption of the two versions. a version with cloud active and a version that activates when the cloud isn't active. ( for instance forza 1080p at 60 fps bc of cloud, and ryze at 900p because no cloud useage yet? )

No no no. The cloud WILL NOT make single player games run better. Also Forza isn't even using the cloud for graphics; no game will. All it's doing is hosting user profiles on the cloud, that's it. If your xbone never touches the internet except the initial patch, Forza will look identical to Forza with the cloud.



If the cloud will be doing CPU work for on-line games, how is that going to affect lag? My internet is fast enough for online shooters but if my kids are also on line everything goes to the shit. This makes me think my internet connection will not be fast enough to take advantage of this Microsoft cloud awesomeness...



My god, how many of these hidden Xbox one power threads do xbox fans plan to make? I thought you are satisfy with what is in it already.

Yes cloud can and will do graphics computing etc.....in 10 years time maybe. Definitely not on Xbox one.
