It's official: Obama just won Maine ... dang it boy - he's got the big mo rollin' his way!

Hillary is trying to force the DNC to bring in Florida and Michigan to derail him

Florida and Michigan are both free to petition the DNC for permission to hold caucuses or conventions and have their delegates counted.  Michigan is looking like it might do just that and hold a caucus.  Although Clinton "won" Michigan, neither candidate campaigned there, and Obama's name wasn't even on the ballot, so it's unclear who would win in a "do-over" (though Obama does do better in caucuses than primaries).  Florida, on the other hand, says they don't want to have a "do-over" because it would cost over $4m, and the DNC is only willing to defray slightly less than $1m of those costs.  So Florida will likely not have its delegates counted, or if they are counted, they will be divided proportionally to the total combined popular vote from all the other primaries -- which was about 50/50 after Super Tuesday.

The Fabian strategy of pinning all your hopes on Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania is looking more msguided by the day.

I'm ashamed to say that my state, Pennsylvania, looks like Clinton territory so far. But I'm not convinced that Ohio is a slam dunk for Clinton.

And Texas has a hybrid system that I believe actually favors Obama, despite demographics. One-third of deleates are selected through caucuses, which Obama has dominated. The rest of the delegates are elected in primaries, but it's not statewide. Instead, delegates are awarded from certain districts, and the largest districts are in Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Houston - places that are bound to favor Obama.

But even if Clinton wins these three states, it's reached the point where just winning is not enough. She'll need 20-pt landslides to cut into the lead Obama will have built by then, and landslides in any of these states are unlikely.

He's still a tool and will lose eventually.

Let me use a mental level appropriate to the one used in your post:

Obama is rubber, you are glue; what bounces off him sticks on you.

Obama is on such a roll right now Hillary may not even win another state though Pennsylvania will be tough the Clintons are very popular there.

It might have to do with how the Feb 26th debate goes. Columbus shows a 2 to 1 lead for Clinton... but the real votes will be cast in Cleveland. Though maybe it's just me but Ohio's young voters seem a lot more apathetic then most. Well not apathetic. They care a whole lot, go to protests and stuff.

Obama did when a straw poll in Lakewood 2 to 1 back in January.  Which is a lot closer to cleveland then Columbus.

They just forget to vote. Or just screw up where they are supposed to go. Of course... this might change since that fraud Blackwell won't have anything to do with the election. That and the lack of black people and the poor being disenfranchised this election might help Obama.

I don't know what's wrong with Ohio's republican party... seems full of crooks. That's the kind of thing you'd think you'd want to avoid in a swing state.

And I'd scream bloody murder if I was Obama. He stuck by the rules - and shouldn't be penalized for sticking by the rules. She canned one of her top staffers - she loaned her campaign $5M AND lost 5 states/territories in a row. All this goes to show one thing - Hillary is running scared. And I am sorry, but I do NOT want to have someone like that with their finger on the button to launch nuclear weapons. I promise you - let a few terrorist bombings happen on U.S. soil right after she's in office and I can bet you cash money she'll cry. Obama was cool all the time - even when he lost states, he was still focused. I admire that about him.

Even though I wanted Bill Richardson to be prez, I am further convinced Obama is the best candidate for prez period. Thanks for the info ...

Go Obama! Love to see him as the next PM of the USA :)

Silly Australian. Congrats on dumping Howard, by the way. I stopped paying attention to the results when his government was defeated, but did he really lose his seat?

Yes that's right. Not only did Howard's party take a beating but he lost his seat on top of that lol. And as another Australian I voted for Kevin Rudd mwahaha.

Back on topic, congrats to Obama. Though I don't think US policy will change too much regardless who wins.

On a sidenote I wonder how many eligible voters there are in the US. In Australia we are legally required to vote and if we don't we get fined :)

I'm going to vote today in the Virginia primary. Let's hope for a Potomac sweep today!

im thinking obama will win after this
