hmm at this point I more or less just expect more PR spin or the reveal of the new cell... honestly, all the rumors / facts I've read recently make me more concerned (in a bad way) about the x1 hardware. As we saw how Sony did with the cell in regards to game optimization so if the X1 architecture is more difficult to program for properly then PS4 will be the lead platform. Conversely though MS does an immensely better job at giving out updates for dev kits which does make it easier for programmers to optimize code. Only time will tell though

I've wondered, with all the extra Co Processors and stuff, if they had not gotten themselves into a Cell situation themselves.  But other reports are good saying that it's all integrated with DirectX and most programmers will not even notice a difference.  That it's all handled by the software.

Which makes the OS more of a challenge to write.  But writing Operating Systems is kind of what Microsoft does best.  So it's possible they could make it work.  They just a big fix on the frame rate an locked at 30 for Dead Rising 3. So maybe it's possible it could work out well for them.

My understanding is that is when the Microsoft Build Devevelopers Conference (Sept. 26-28) happens.

It would seem like an appropriate, if not fitting place to discuss the topic of additional features.

No offence, but you are making a bit of a leap aren't you from your statement? Albert did not "promise" to talk about it on the 26th. He suggested it was soon. It may in fact be on the 26th... but your post if factually incorrect.

You should change your post to something like - Albert Penello promised more architectural details will be revealed soon - The developers conference is taking place on September 26th seems like it could be the best place for this.

There is enough rumour mill and people making massive leaps already on the internet, and after all your "Secret Sauce" posts and arguments with people on the forums, I would have expected you would have wanted to post stuff that's at least accurate.

While I agree that he has basically lost most of his credibilty with the forum crowds Playstation fans.  But, he has created a number of interesting ideas/theories (mostly not even his) for everyone to discuss.  If you look at his threads, they are mostly derailed by comments that basically complain about the idea of the thread.  If the people making those comments really didn't want to read the info, shouldn't they have just quit reading them and moved on?  Just like this thread, if someone doesn't agree with his proclimation that it will be announce on or around the 26th, just say so and move on.  No need for the "not this again" stuff.

OT:  It does seem like you have come to a logical conclusion about the 26th, but logical or not - He didn't say the 26th at all.

Because we all know that the people interested in learning about something will always be positive about those subjects. Right?

Haha... what a terrible thread. The person you're quoting says "very soon". Random people on Twitter ask if he means the 26th at DevCon, and he never answers. Awesome.

I'm not saying that it's impossible for it to happen at DevCon. But this thread is based on literally nothing.

MS just need to put all the spec cards on the table, no more secret sauce and Major Nelson's 'truth' nonsense, it's like an episode of the X-files, just maybe MS will show us the existence of intelligent design and we can get some decent threads!
