Forums - Politics Discussion - Is socialism endan^gered in The United States?

I personally think I'm tired of almost half our population being reliant on the government just to eat. What was is 48% of the population is on some form of government welfare? That is pathetic and sad in my view. Who knows in 10 years it'll probably be 80% on government assistance. The fall of the United States.......... kind of depressing.

Just no. Less free money will convince people to do something with their life. Not to mention...if these programs are being cut, why are more people sucking money out of them now than ever.

That is why socialism never succeeds in becoming the bigger country.

People that think like you amazes me. We buy one plane for 1 billion dollars(B-2 bombers) almost every year and it cost millions to maintain the fleet.

Military industry and other corporations get obscene corporate welfare and you are worried that people might benefice from our money instead of oligarchs.

Corporate welfare is around $100 billion and Social is not even close to that. The money people get for social welfare is very insignificant. In the most expensive areas it doesn't reach $400.

But yet, Exxon gets $4 billion for R&D after it was very profitable with all the gas price hikes.

And some people with your way of thinking amazes me.. I mean seriously.. people like you think it's okay for me to work 12-20 hours a day.. come home and barily keep a roof over my head sometimes.. and yet you think it's okay my next door neighbor of old for instance did not work a day in his life.. and has Big screen TV's and a freaking Lincoln.. off of my.. and your tax money... when I am lucky driving a beat up old Ram..why?? because that is what it takes.. just for me to make it..

And you are of the same crop  that when say a Libertarian says he wants to cut taxes for everyone the only thing you think of is corporations when they actually do mean everyone.. (Including you and me..)

Your type also sees a cap on corporations and their profits is a good thing.. while saying the Government has the right to spend and make as much profit as they want... (Which equals government having more power over us.. and you pretending like this is a good thing.. or for the Love of God.. I pray your pretending because if you are really that.. *Being Nice* Silly... well I just.. let me put it this way.. what I would say to that... would get me banned period)

so yeah.. needless to say.. your not on the side of Knights and Angels either... so get off your little high horse...  (For the record I am not perfect.. nor am I on the side of Knights and Angels.. but I also don't go around talking and pretending to be.. I admit it.. unlike most people who think like you..)

Nintendo Wii by generations...

1. Wii

2. Wii U

3. Wii O U

Predictions made by gamers concerning the current Nintendo line up of games.

Pikmen 3= Little Bump to nothing. (Got Little Bump)

Wind Waker HD= Won't sell anything (The explosion happened here and at one time 4 Wii U games was in the Amazon top 100)

Super Mario 3D World= Won't help at all looks cheap. (Currently the most sought after Wii U game and continuing the Wii U increase.)

I believe Financial aid and Social Security qualify as government welfare.

I wish it was in Belgium. My goverment spends 59% of GDP over here.

1- Your neighbor didn't buy big screen TV's and Lincoln on a $300-375 budget.

2-Libertarians are bunch of wolves in a sheep skin. I don't believe one bit of their(your?) lunatic fallacies. I have my reasons. Libertarians sometimes make more sense than Republicans but they're almost the same thing.

3-You think you would hurt my feelings for saying some stupid stuff? This is where I see your level of intelligence. I mean, the usual for your group of people when you can't justify your reasoning.

I'm all for free enterprise and free market, but when that is hurting the engine that is the driving force behind it I, as a social and an empathic human being I choose people.

The corporation that you defend, after getting their tax breaks they go ship some more jobs oversees and you are one of the first to ***h at government of lack of jobs.

Social Welfare needs to be better regulated but you folks are going over the board with this insignificant issue.

I make like 12 to 15k a year yet make ends meet with my only "subsidy" being that I pay a low tax rate. I still buy games, expensive phones, build new computers, go to the bars with friends, yet apparently somebody of my status needs food stamps and every other subsidy?

keeping more of YOUR OWN money, is not a subsidy.

anyway the US is increasingly becoming more socialist/authoritarian, not less.

I realize that. Just making sure people realize I pay about 1% fed and state tax...not including ss and medicare which I pay 7.65 for about 2/3 and 15.3 for the rest

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

Food stamps aren't socialism. Socialism can't die in America because it was never alive to begin with, and that's a good thing.

As for whether welfare will eventually be abolished entirely, no, that probably won't happen.

LOL you must be crazy because US is a democrat infested country.

The link does not lie. Does it? I guess only if it links to Neogaf or Fox news.

I'm not sure about you but what they are doing seems to be smart. Somebody has to fight against the vicious democrats even though I hate republicans too.

I do not care about party fighting...or party rocking :P...But I do think this program is the least of our countries worries. Creates tons of jobs, plus all the taxes that comes from it probably makes the program not that bad for us. Plus it is nice to allow people to eat food. I am sure they could tweek the program some to ban some foods so that obesity goes down in our country, but other than that, just leave it.

Are you...debating with your alt? :o

OT: What kantor said (Y)

The current reactionary flavor in Congress will diminish over time, especially if the GOP are stupid enough to go through on their "shut down the government if no defund the ACA," which will crush their electoral chances in 2014.

For their own good, the GOP needs to crush the Tea Party, lest the party itself become irreperably damaged
