Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ryse: Son of Rome has more pre-orders than Wind Waker

Why is this so surprising ? WW HD is a remaster not some remake. Granted the surprising part is how a trash developer like crytek is gaining some traction for this launch game when crysis 3 fell short.

You need to find a source for the thread.

Also, there's nothing sad about it since different people want to play different games. I know I'm really looking forward to Ryse: Son of Rome.

Inded sad... a great and successful franchise losing in preorders for a new IP :(

There are 3 different availabe pre order options right now. Vgchartz won't track Wii U bundles and the ganondorf statue one.

ZeldaWWHD will be charting sales for the life of Wii U. Ryse will be dead by January.

I predict......

Zelda ww 1.5 million lifetime
Ryse 2 million lifetime

silly me, forgot to switch the IME. A little extreme in both directions, but likely true enough. Ryse will be forgotten quickly in all likelihood, though Wind Waker should be a steady choice for new Wii U owners looking for a Zelda fix.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Zelda WW HD is only really good for zelda fans who missed it on gamecube who huge fans who want to play it for the nostalgia factor. Its not going to bring in new audience and considering thenature of the game it limits its sales. Also, i dont see people who missed it first time around needing to buy a wii u because they obviously werent in a rush to play it before and the people who want to replay it for nostalgia wont go out rushing to buy a wii u either because its a game they already played before. So really, the sales potential is to the people who fall into these categories that already have a wii u... thats a small pool. Also, it will definitly have longer legs due to that fact

Not really Wind Waker will sell more in its lifetime which is all that really matters.  Also it will sell a lot more copies at full retail price since Nindento rarely drops the price of their game shortly after lauch I think it only happens if a game by them totally bombs and that is not going to happen with Wind Waker it going to be full retail price for a long time.

A new game VS a rehash?
