Yes.  I am talking about the main games. No Mario Kart, no Paper Mario,  no Mario RPG, no Mario Party. None of that. We are talking  about the main Mario games! 2D and 3D! I don't have a favorite one because there is a tie between a 2D one and a 3D one. The 2D one took  2D Mario to a whole new level back in the day and the 3D one took 3D Mario to a whole new level. Enough  about me, I wanna hear YOUR opinions! Have fun.

SMB3 blew my mind like a warp whistle.

Obviously Super Mario Galaxy.
A masterpiece, and the best game of the generation.

I went for 64. It was close between that and SMG though.

Actually if I voted again I might have picked SMG =/

N64 cuz it was just so amazing at the time, my favorite being SMG2 though!

Same with Zelda, OoT but TP being my favorite!!!

Sunshine because that game was massive! I would have liked it better if Mario used a water flower instead of a water pack. But any way. Sunshine is to 64 what waker is to ocarina. Yea 64, was a revolution into 3D, but sunshine was a revolution into smooth, bright, gigantic, colorful worlds with better camera, better gameplay, and better sound. It's my favorite mario game because it feels like a waterpark only better.

Galaxy followed closely by Super Mario World

SMB3 ...The Wizard movie was an awesome promo for it too lol

2D: Super Mario Bros and NSMBU
3D: Super Mario Galaxy. Didn't really like the old 3D mario games such as 64 and Sunshine.

Super Mario World for me, but half the reason is nostalgia.
Fondest memories playing that game with my brother decades ago.

If I was new to the series I think Galaxy I and II would be my top picks. My only complaint about those games is that the levels are so damn linear. I don't want a full GTA style open world for Mario but say 8 huge themed worlds with 20+ starequivalent shinies to collect (among other things) in each area.
