GT5 runs at 1080p... true and native 1080p... I think your definition of 1080p is a bit confuse. 1080p means "1080 vertical lines in progressive scan"... horizontal can be anything... 1280x1080p é true 1080p like 1920x1080p.

1600x900 is bigger than 1280x1080 but do you really want to compare Xbone with PS3?

No I am not confusing it. People expect 1080p to be 1920x1080, progressive. We will see how this will turn out. Especially I am looking forward on how IQ will be. 1080p without decent AA looks like crap, 720p with decent AA can look wonderful.

This is so true, and something people way too often overlook. Resolution is nice and all, but it's all for nothing if the game looks like it was drawn with an etch a sketch.

What the biggest advantage of up the resolution? No need AA.... while you are right about a 720p game with 4xAA looks better than 1080p with noAA... in essence the resolution will be always better at the point that AA will be not needed.

For example... a 4k resolution in a 32" screen will never need AA but a 720p game in a 60" will always need heavly AA. AA exists to fix the low resolution of the render... bigger the resolution = less aliasing = less AA needed.

I can say for sure in the same HDTV a 1080p game without AA looks better than 720p with 2xAA.

I did a test in a friend home someday and we needed at least 1080P 8x AA to match 1440P no AA... so at 8xAA the 1080p image get better than 1440p with noAA but at 4xAA the image looked worst.

Like I said I'm not dening what you said... 720p 4xAA will look better than 1080p noAA... but I can't see any game with noAA in next-gen consoles.

IMO this was more because of the rushes rather than hardware. Xbox One wasn't mean to launch this early IMO.

It is not so true

Depends the size of the screen, difference between resolutions and the level of AA... bigger resolutions trends to looks better with less AA than lower resolutions... it is like to match 1080p resolution you need at least 4xAA on 720p.

PS. Depends what kind of AA you are using too... there are a lot of differents techs of AA.

900p and still looks on par with everything else shown for ps4/xboxone, so who the hell cares?

Now this is where the thread should have gone

If your judging a system on there first line up of games then you clearly have issues with the way you think. People still think PS3 is more powerful then 360 because of there recent exclusive games.. well when was 360s last major exclusive game? PS3 does not have a FPS game that looks better then Halo 4 just like 360 doesn't have a game that looks as good as The Last of Us.

Killzone ShadowFall is Sonys biggest FPS game and it looks great but to compare it to games that aren't in the same budget line up is unfair. How about we wait and compare Killzone to Halo 5? and why do I get the impression that Halo 5 will blow it to bits in every category. All im saying is stop comparing which console is better in graphics when it doesn't make a difference. You will still buy a XB1 or PS4 even if it is a weaker system.

Edit - For the idiots claiming Cloud is all talk, why dont you wait for the console to be released before making stupid statments.

:hah:

> Says compare Killzone to titles in its budget range.

> Compares it to a title with 3 times the budget.

> Calls other's statement stupid.

I can say for sure you just have a different opinion. No AA, bad AA. IQ is dependant on a lot of things. Easy as this. There are also exceptionally bad AA-techniques around. There is no 2xAA, it depends on what AA you implement. Not to mention that TVs also show pictures totally different, of course.

But at least generally you agree with me. And as we see Ryse now with 900p which is a lot more pixels than 1080p I doubt it will have many problems regarding IQ but the most important thing to me is rock-solid 30fps.

Just my $0.02, if a game on either ps4 or xbox one ships with less than 720p, it should not be bought by anyone, as its a complete and utter waste of the hardware for both.
