I'd also recommend the Armored Core games if you're a fan of them.  Try out Armored Core 2 and 3.  If you like them, get the rest.  The earlier games are better than the PS3 games.

But I'll say more anyway. SotC (ICO sucked imo but I LOVE this game especially in HD), GTA trilogy, FF12 (one of the few JRPGs I could get into), and MGS3 are the ones off the top of my head that stand out.

LOTR 2 and 3 were AWESOME movie games.  Especially RotK with the co-op awesomeness and Gandalf

God Hand, Dragon Quest VIII, Resident Evil 4, Soul Calibur II. There last two have better versions in other systems.

Those you mentioned are amongst my favorite games ps2-era.

Recommendations: Xenosaga and Shadow Hearts.

Wild ARMs 3 - 5. Awesome, awesome JRPG's.

Also, SSX 3. Not a JRPG, but possibly my favourite videogame of the sixth gen.
