Forums - Sony Discussion - Somethings wrong with reviews and Killzone: Mercenary proves it

don't believe me:We"ll just have to wait until another metroid is released on 3ds.

Yeah, because the 85 for Metroid Prime Hunters released in the year 2006 when fps (Metroid Prime isn´t even a fucking fps) on handhelds were a novel idea is "kissing their asses"...

...and maybe the last 7 years of shooters caused genre fatigue and set the standards higher than they were in 2006 ?

Nope, the gaming media is pro Nintendo (bwahaha !)

Not sure why you're complaining here, 77% is a great score. Every game that scores above 70 is considered to be a good game, "average game" is one that scores between 5 and 7, and, if you liked the game, I don't see why you should care about review scores. Scores are just the opinion of someone else, they won't reflect the enjoyment you had out of the game, since, as you stated, the user score is much higher than the one from the gaming journalists.

ok a lot of people say this but it's basically saying this game is so much worse than many CODs or Battlefields or other Killzones (mainly 2).  It's all relative.

There is definitely something wrong with video game journalism and the entire video game reviewing process (including scoring), but I don't see any evidence of 3DS titles getting a pass and Vita titles being judged unfairly. Sure there are a lot of underrated Vita games, but I certainly don't see a double standard vis-a-vis 3DS.

Yes and also the bug ridden broken mess that Rome 2 release was. After maybe 6 months that game will be great and not a huge problem with the reviews. But on launch the reviews were quite good and yet it was broken on many people's computers and was just in general a mess.

I really like the game but with the bugs atm I will just play it later.

Wow, it really must be bad. 80 Metascore, 3.1 User average.

Can't blame that on fanboys either since it's a PC title.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

The bugs are often worse then Skyrim on the PS3 at launch. To make matters worse, the sales are probably better this time around due to marketing. So that is more exposure to the bugs.

Gaming journalism has a very very long way to go. Overall it is very immature, as it most of the industry unfortunately.

I don't know if I have seen another industry where the customers and creators bitch about each other all the time. It's very unprofessional.

I just checked out the review scores for MLB 13 The Show on PS3 and Vita. The only difference between the two are graphical capabilities. Worse graphics and a lot of cameras removed, removing how the console game feels like a live baseball game rather than just a video game.

Gamespot scored 85 for PS3 and 70 for Vita. IGN scored 88 for PS3 and 76 for Vita.

The IGN review complains how the game doesn't include cross buy and instead of you can do some cross play between PS3, you can only do homerun derby with the PS3. Sure, the cross buy and cross play thing are crap, but neither devalues the purchase of the Vita game anymore than the PS3 game. You're paying $20 less and you can still play online against other Vita owners.

The problem is not that 77.

Probably KZ Mercenaries deserve that.

The problem is most of other game's scores are fucking inflate as hell.

So yeah, i got your point.

I agree with you, Killzone M is one of the finest handheld games Ive ever played, its definetly under rated. Its a shame its judged as a console game and not for being on a handheld system, I was amazed they were able to pull such a game off on the Vita. Moreover the gameplay is really solid, better than KZ3.
