I stopped going regularly after '02 and have no time at all nowadays to go to the cinema. So I built one at home :)

The first Transformers and most recently Star Trek Into Darkness.

The first Transformers I went to the movies and came out a little disappointed. A few days later I had to go with my brother so I saw it again. Star Trek was just so good I had to see it a second time with a few friends.

Off that top of my head I'm pretty sure James Cameron's Avatar is the only movie I saw three times in theaters.
I think I saw the Hunger Games twice, also Dark Knight Rises. And some other ones I don't remember.

I saw TDK Rises 3 times on the theater, loved it.

Never seen a movie more then once at the theaters.

So how is it how does it compare to other racing movies.

Very, very rarely.
The three Lord of the Rings movies and Pacific Rim are the only ones I can recall. All were great enough to be worth it.

I think I saw Spider-Man 3 three times just because I was so confused by how I felt about it.

Other than that, nothing immediately comes to mind, but I know it's happened.
