Even GPU wise, the GameCube has more raw horsepower, there's nothing on the 3DS that touches the poly pushing power of something like Rogue Squadron II. The 3DS is better at things like having modern shading/lighting effects, but that's not really a big deal in sports games.

Very poor texturing ability as well. Really, the only advantage the 3DS GPU has is lighting and on-GPU more modern hardware functionality now that I think about it.

With effort (not even that much since it looks like they won't have full teams) the 3DS can do better, that is barely above the ISS games I used to play on the N64, might be lower if that reduced team size is the standard and not some special mode.

that is true, the 3DS is actually quite comparable to the Dreamcast when it comes to the polygon count (Ram and feature set are obviously far superiour though)

3rd party companies - Do you think our games don't sell well on Nintendo consoles because we don't try hard enough or simply because Nintendo fans only like Nintendo games?

Guys, it's the 3DS lol. You don't buy that system for specs, you buy it for great games on the go.
