And nothing prevents them from doing a 180 again after a few years...

This will happen. After they have a good install base for Xbox One they will slowly start to implement DRM again. They will launch full scale DRM if the "small" DRM gets successful

Are you from the future?

He's just guessing intelligently. I mean Microsoft themselves said they would reintroduce those plans when ''the time is good''

They still forgot one bullet point.

Your privacy
You can unplug Kinect if you don't want anything listening to your living room conversations.

I will certainly get an X1 if it ends up being a great system, but I have to say they are either lying to themselves or trying to pull one over on the consumer saying "we designed X1 to be your X1" because it simply isn't true. X1 is the way it is because of potential losses they would have incurred due to consumer backlash over anti-gamer policies.  Also no matter what they say, I don't think their launch will be as strong as it would have been if they had done the right thing in the first place.  It would be intersting to know how many people pre-orderd a PS4 simply because of these issues.

A lot of conspiracy theories around VGC these days...

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

One thing that's actually pretty obvious: both Sony and Microsoft will be doing the same thing. The CONSOLE won't force always-on DRM, but some games still will. it's up to the publishers.

Pretty sure Sunset Overdrive is one such title.

No this isn't an anti-Microsoft argument, it's gonna be the same for both major competitors in the HD race. only difference is that Sony NEVER was going to use the console itself to implement such policies, so any time Microsoft 'allows' a game to do it on their console, it's gonna trigger confirmation bias in the eyes of anyone frothing at the mouth to complain about their policies.

It is kinda terrible to have such policies, but I honestly think that's just how it's gonna be in the future. they are at the spearhead of anti-consumerism!

they arent reminding of a 180, they are trying to act like the whole DRM/always online fiasco never happend. lol

i guess that sounds better then the alternative..

From what i gather from the reply's to DJEVOLVE is that this is about the thread title and not much about the ad. Am i right?

Yes, I was just making a light hearted comment about the title not being exactly right.  I'm not sure where DJEVOLVE was reading that i thought MS should do differently.

Im just going to chalk it up to the pain meds making him confused in what i was trying to say lol

I agree that the this thread title isn't right. They aren't reminding anyone about their 180, it is just an ad to inform people of their system.

I am not sure where he got that either. Just by the first sentence you could tell you were talking about the thread title and not the ad.  Kind of odd really how he thought you were talking about the ad and after explanation several times he still never got that you were talking about the thread title. Kind of comical actually lol

No, you fucking didnt. You designed it to be very restrictive and you just had to abandon that

They decided to make it a bold leap into the future, and people weren't ready, so they changed it to what people wanted. You're just looking for a reason to be unhapy about it.

"How dare they claim to make a system people want, just because people said what they want and they did it!?"

Fixed.

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

Fuck you, Microsoft.

You didn't design it this way, you only did it out of pressure.

Because all you really wanted was to fuck us over, and now you want us to forget it. Dumbasses.
